JACOB

After we were done at Charlie's, Bella and Edward brought Ness over to Billy's so El and I could see her. She looks about 12, last time she looked about 9. Bella and Edward didn't have her. Ness was with more of her kind getting stronger and said they were thinking about letting her stay. I don't know what El's thinking, she won't tell me. She's sat in the window with her knees curled to her chest staring into the woods forever.

"Jake, why doesn't she talk?" Ness asks.

"El just isn't used to talking to people outside their heads or her very small comfort zone." I reply with a sigh. "Kinda like you used to."

"Why is she sitting in the window?"

"It's cooler, if El gets to hot, she catches on fire."

"Can I talk to her?"

"Go ahead, just be careful."

ELIZABETH

Renesmee walks over to me and smiles. I slightly lift the corner of my lip. She places her hand on my cheek and my mind goes a million miles per hour.

"You love her, don't you?"

"Yeah, I love her with all I have."

"So it's like what happened with mother and father. Even though they weren't supposed to be together they did because they loved each other."

"Yeah, Ness."

"So, you didn't just imprint, you fell in love?"

"That's exactly what happened."

Renesmee pulls her hand away and my eyes gleam. I tilt my head and slightly furrow my eyebrows.

"You're like Jasper too, aren't you?"

"Yeah."

"You've seen my past too?"

"Yeah."

"Did you tell him?"

"No."

"Are you like your Dad?"

"Sometimes."

"Did you see what I was thinking about?"

"Don't worry. Secrets safe with me."

"Thanks Ness."

There's a lot to that kid that I'm gonna need to learn. There's a lot of that kid that I bet nobody knows. She's rare. Somehow it was possible. That's not all that's been racking my thoughts, I can't seem to do anything, or process anything. Jake still isn't sure about letting me go to La Push. I really want to go, but I don't at the same time. Who knew so little could do so much? I'm not talking about alcohol or drugs either. Just barely thinking about one thing could force you to shut down. I can't really describe what's happening, only that I can't stand it.

A loud buzzing in my ear. My head pounding, eyes about to budget out of their sockets. Throat on fire, bones and muscles ache for some reason. Knots twisting in my stomach. Only I barely feel a thing.

No pain.

Only dull aches.

What is happening?

I don't know.

Threading.

I am hanging on by a thread.
Nearing the death.
Coming to my own end.
Counting down to my last breath.
I encounter the end of the line.
Holding on until the end of time.
My limbs are weak
My body aches.
The animals sing
As the Earth quakes.
Just in case this will be the end,
It is time to goodbye my very dear
Friend.
