14: Twins

ELIZABETH

"Twins."

Jake and I move our hands and the glowing goes away. His phone goes off and he answers it.

"Yeah, Alice, sort of already figured that out."

"El managed to somehow."

"She's fine."

"Fine."

Jake hands the phone to me so that can deal with Alice.

"El, you better hope Jasper doesn't hear about this he still doesn't even know in the first place. That and my vision changed, you won't have the same fate as Bella did, but you may not like the next part."

"What do you mean Alice?"

"Not both of the twins will be able to stay supernatural. Meaning it'll be in more danger than the one that is, unless you manage to bring Gabe back."

"What the hell is that supposed to mean!?!"

"You need to bring Gabe back if you want to keep them both safe, and both of them would be supernatural if you do that too."

"How am I supposed to do that?"

"I don't know, but I'll work on that, gotta go bye!"

"Alice! Dammit!"

I end the call and give Jake back the phone. I pinch my nose bridge and let out a deep breath. Jake rubs my back soothingly and holds my hand.

"What's wrong?"

"Too much for me to worry about right now." I whisper squeezing my eyes closed.

Jake runs his fingers through my slightly tangled hair as my head rests on his lap. Jasper figured he'd come and visit so I'm trying not to get too worked up when I'm still trying to deal with everything else. Jasper isn't going to be happy, and Jake will probably have to try to not hurt him while trying not to die. Meanwhile I'm stuck on the couch doing nothing. Not that I don't like being lazy, but I also like getting out and being active. Go me. The door opens and I sit up. Emmett and Jas come in. Emmett smiles trying to hide how worried he is and Jas smiles because he can see me. The girls come in followed by Seth and Edward. Esme and Rose sit in the chair eyeing Jasper. Alice and Bella stand near the door waiting for this to turn to hell. Edward stands with Bella as Seth stands by the couch on the other side.

"Hey El." Jasper says. "You look terrible." He scoffs.

"Nice to see you too asshole." I retort.

"Wait." Jasper's face turns cold. "Why do you look like Bella did?"

I sit up straight and his expression hardens. His head snaps toward Jake. Jasper's eyes turn red. Jake moves to stand in front of me. Jasper goes to pounce, but Emmett grabs him. Jake puts an arm out behind him for me to know that I can hold onto him.

"You did this!" Jas sneers. I squeeze my eyes shut and bite my lip.

"Jasper, we didn't even know that it was possible." Jake says calmly. I hear the twins' hearts pick up. Jasper gets even angrier.

"Twins." He growls.

"Jas, calm down." I plead. He looks at me and eases. Emmett releases him and he goes at Jake. Jasper throws Jake across the room. "JASPER!!!" I scream. Emmett and Edward hold Jasper back as Jake stands up. He looks at me with worry in his eyes. His eyes flick to Seth and back to me. Bella notices and speeds over sitting beside me. Jake keeps his eyes glued on me. My expression stays blank.
