ch. 9

HAYDEN'S POV.
I watched him stare out the window like he was in a daze. A few hours later we arrived at a hotel, it was 2:30 I ordered some pizza for a late lunch.
"I'm heading out for a bit."I said opening the door.
"Where are you going?" He asked standing up and walking over to me.
"I just need to check on some things I'll be back in a few hours."
"Oh OK well I'll lock the door behind you." He had his hand on the handle already.
I walked out and drove to the woods just on the out skirt of the town. I took the 6 person tent out of the back of the car and walked about 1 mile and a half out into the woods. There was a giant clearing a little ways away from a 6' waterfall; only a handful of people know about this place.
I set up the tent and I had this weird sort of sleeping bag that was the size of a giant bed that you could stuff things into. I shoved the pillows that I had put in air sealed bags inside of it and created a sort of bed after I re-fluffed the pillows. I proceeded to take sheets and a ton of blankets and made it more comfortable and cozy. Since it was a 6 person tent I had an area left to do something with.
I got out my phone and called my friend Luca.
"Hey man you got the thing I asked for?"
" Yeah you want me to bring it?"
"Yeah, I'm over at the waterfall where you, lacy, and I used to hang."
"Ight I'll be there in 30." He said and hung up.
While I was waiting for Luca I decided to set up the rest of the camp. I walked back to the car and drove it through the woods. I took a shovel from the back seat and started to dig a hole. When it was deep enough I got rocks from the waterfall which was about a ten minute walk from where I had the tent set up.
When I got back to the pit Luca was there. I dropped the rocks and he came over and helped me put them around the hole.
"So is this just you hanging out with someone or something special?" Luca said dusting the dirt off of his hands.
"Just hanging out with someone who has been dealing with a lot lately. I figured he could use some relaxation."
"Like the first time you brought me here when my parents were going through a divorce and my sister blamed me?"
"Something Like that."
I said standing up and dusting the dirt off my hands.
"I already have the wireless TV and internet hooked up inside the tent. You have about a week till it goes haywire. Sorry I'm late too."
"Thanks man and its fine I got a bit of time anyways."
"You want some help gathering fire wood?"
"You bring your axe?" I questioned with raised eyebrows.
"Ever since I got this job, I never leave without it."
"Yeah thanks man." I said as he went to his truck and got his axe out. "I'll look for branches and wood I can pick up."
"ight man."
After an hour we had gathered enough wood for 2 weeks.
"Well I have to get home I'll come by Wednesday to see if you're ok." He said and we "bro hugged" and he left.
I got in my car and headed to the store. I bought a yeti cooler, a bunch of ice, food, drinks and some canned stuff. I bought pure lemon body wash to keep ticks and other pesky bugs and such away, bug repellant tikki torches and candles, along with an adjustable light to put inside the tent. After I paid for the stuff I went to get Zander from the hotel.
