Cole's POV
I woke up this morning in pain, and frightened. When I opened my eyes, I saw Lloyd in my face, Jay was tugging on my arm, and Kai was jumping on my bed. Zane was just sitting in the corner meditating. I'm not sure why Zane can't be a Nindroid and be just like us.
"Get up, Cole! It's time for training!" Kai yelled, continuing to jump on me.
"That would be possible if you got off, Kai!" I hollered back. My legs were beginning to ache. Kai flipped off of my bed and helped me to my feet. Jay examined my sopping wet forehead as I sat up.
"Are you having night sweats again?" he nagged.
"Yeah that's because hothead over here keeps playing with his fire!" I scowled, gesturing to Kai.
"Hey, it isn't my fault I have nocturnal outbursts!" Kai retorted defensively.
Kai's POV
I really want to set Cole's butt on fire the next time he calls me hothead, airhead, or fire face.
"Kai, would you mind grilling my steak a little?" Jay called from across the table. Upon instinct, I threw a fireball in Jay's direction. His steak turned out medium rare, the way he liked it.
"Awesome. It's perfect!" he applauded.
*KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK*
The sound of the door silenced us.
"I've got it," Zane offered. He stood up and left the room.
"Welcome to the.... One moment, please," he said, walking back into the dining room.
"Who is it?" Sensei Wu.
"Someone for Cole, that's all," he replied, sitting down. Cole rose and rushed into the other room. He paused in his steps, then ran the rest of the way.
"Hello, Cole!" a girl's voice cried.
