Chapter 7: Duplicate or Imposter?

Kai's POV

I find it hard to wait for Cole and Roxy to come back. My sister was pacing back and forth, waiting for her boyfriend to walk in the door.

"Hello! Anyone home?" Cole called. We ran into the front room, finding him holding pressure to an open wound in his right arm.

"Where's Roxy?" Jay wondered aloud.

"We won our battle so she went to visit our dad," he replied, wincing from the pain in his arm.

"Are you alright, Cole?" Nya examined his arm.

"Yeah, I'm fine... ahh, easy!" he whimpered.

"Pixal, can you tend to Cole's arm in the other room, please?" Zane requested.

"Cole doesn't seem to be as ok as he lets on," I observed.

"What do you mean?" Jay questioned.

"I mean, flash trap, that he's hiding his pain from us for once," I retorted, insulting him directly.

"Well, EXCUSE ME for not paying attention!" he hollered.

"That's technically your fault, Jay," Zane recalled. Pixal and Cole returned a few minutes later, Cole's arm in a sling to keep it elevated.

"I'm going to need a new suit, because Pixal had to rip my entire sleeve to get to my cut," he informed us.

"I'll get started on it now. Do you want a cover over your mouth or eyes?" my sister asked.

"Just my mouth, thanks, Nya," he recommended. She nodded and left the room.

"Are you sure you're all right, Cole? You look extremely pale," Lloyd said. Cole swayed a little bit, then sat down. It looked like he was about to pass out.

"I just need tea and sleep, that's all," he mumbled dizzily. Lloyd ran into the dining room, and after a few minutes he arrived with chamomile tea.

"Here. Drink this. It'll help you sleep through the pain a little better," he offered. Cole drank half a mug, immediately falling asleep. Zane and Jay walked over, lightly lifted him up, and laid him on his bed. He didn't wake up for the rest of the night.
