The final bell if the day rang and I sighed happily as I waltzed out of the girl's locker room. "Freedom!!" I sang out as I headed to the commons area to leave the school.

I froze as I was leaving and sighed again, remembering I had detention. I turned on my heels and headed towards Mr. Henry's class. I opened the door to his class and wasn't surprised to see Cameron sitting there, his arms crossed over his chest.

I chuckled and shut the door, "awww look! Quarterback got detention." I cooed at him as I sat down on the opposite side of the room.

Cameron looked up and scowled at me, "what did I ever see in you?" He growled out.

I laughed as I rose an eyebrow, "well if you want me to answer that, re read all those cheesy emails you sent me. Adilyn, I love you so much! You're beautiful, charming, considerate, my soul mate!" I said mimicking his voice.

I noticed Cameron squeeze his hands into fists, "why are you such a bitch?!"

"Never. Ever. Mess with a girl's new top." I stated simply smiling at him.

Cameron stood up angrily, "I'm going to wipe that pretty smile of yours right off your face." He threatened as he advanced toward me.

I grinned at him, "You think my smiles pretty? Aww!" I replied sarcastically.

Just as Cameron was about to slap me across the face, the door opened and in walked Mr. Henry and mean, Spaghetti guy.

Cameron sat down next to me quickly and I chuckled, but quickly covered it up with a cough.

"Next to them Derek." Mr. Henry told spaghetti dude. He rolled his eyes and sat down in front of me. I let out a small sigh and leaned back in my seat, deciding to just relax.

Suddenly the door opened again and I opened one eye to see who it was. I sat up in surprise when I saw it was Alex. He smiled at me and handed his slip to Mr. Henry and sat down behind me.

I turned around and was just about to say something when Mr. Henry interrupted, "hate to say this, but no talking." He told me.

I closed my mouth and sighed a little looking ahead again. That's when I noticed Derek glaring at Alex and I furrowed my eyebrow at him. I looked behind me and saw Alex glaring right back his eyes looking white from anger and Derek's looking pure black.

I slowly put my head down awkwardly. At one point, Mr. Henry got a call and had to leave for a few minutes. As soon as the door shut, Alex was on his feet and grabbing Derek by the collar of his shirt and scowling at him.

"What are you doing here?!" He snapped at him. My eyes widened and I glanced at Cameron whose eyes were just as wide as mine.

Derek chuckled a little, "I go here." He stated simply.

Alex let out a snort, "no shit, you know what I mean Derek." He snapped.

"Look guys, um... Mr. Henry is going to be here any minute and there's no use fighting." I got up and pushed myself between them.

"Aw, you need a girl to stop your fights?" Derek asked Alex, smirking.

That was when I was squished in between them. I let out a choked gasp as Alex pulled him closer, "Alex." I gasped out, "you're hurting me...."

"You know as well as I do Derek, that I can take you on any day." He hissed out and suddenly I was released from the two walls pressing against me and my arm was pulled as I was shoved backward.

Alex pointed across the room, "Let's sit over there." He muttered as he headed to the opposite side of the room.

"W-wouldn't Mr. Henry be suspicious as to why we're moving seats?" I asked nervously as I took in the stormy expression on his face

He shrugged, "does it really matter? It's already detention." He stated as he sat down in the corner.

I slowly sat down next to him, my body tense. "Hey, are you okay?" I asked quietly.

He glanced at me his eyes hard, "why would you care? You just met me today." He stated.

My eyes narrowed, "I'm sorry I care about people." I snap as I cross my arms over my chest and face the front of the room.

I heard Alex sigh, "Look, I'm sorry; I just don't want to talk about it right now, okay?" He told me.

I slowly nod as the door opened and Mr. Henry walked in, "you guys can leave and just say you spent the hour and a half in here. I gotta go." He said as he started grabbing his stuff.

We all got up and grabbed our bags as Mr. Henry left saying, "last one out shut the door." Everyone piled out while i hung back a few seconds watching as Alex and Derek left. It didn't make sense why they would hate each other so much. I headed out of the room, shutting it behind me and noticed Alex waiting next to the door, leaning against it casually.

"Hey..." I said awkwardly as i glanced at him and started heading out of the school, not really bothering with taking my time anymore.

Alex followed beside me, his arm brushing against mine. I felt a chill go down my spine as if I had been electrocuted. "Hey." He replied back simply as we got to the front doors.

"So, is everything okay now?" I asked glancing at him as the wind blew my hair back. Alex looked up at the cloudy sky and shrugged a little.

"Yeah, it's about to rain." He stated simply and I furrowed my eyebrow looking up. Sure enough, a few seconds later, I felt a drop of rain hit my nose and slide down my face.

"Shit!" I cursed as I looked around the parking lot. I scowled when I realized it was empty and sighed softly. Looks like I had to walk in the pouring rain. I adjusted my bag to make it more comfortable as I waved a little at Alex. "I better start walking home now, before it really starts to pour down rain."

Alex raised an eyebrow at me and grabbed my elbow, "I could drive you home." He offered rolling his eyes at me a little.

I gave him a little smile "Nah, I'm sure I won't need it." Just as I said that a loud crack of thunder boomed across the sky and the rain starting pouring.

"I'm sure you will." Alex said grinning teasingly as he pulled on my hand, leading me toward the back parking lot. "Let's hurry up before we look like little lost puppies."

I blushed a little, and nodded as I followed him through the pouring rain toward a blue Camry. I had to admit, it was a pretty nice car. Alex opened the door for me and I stepped in sitting down in the seat. My eyes widened and suddenly I was worried that I would ruin the seats, I was soaking wet.

Alex got in a few seconds later and gave me a small smile, "don't worry, the seats will be fine." He grinned at me as I gaped at him surprised.

He started the car and drove out of the parking lot. "So, how was your first day?" I asked him curiously when we pulled onto the road, his windshield wipers moving incredibly fast.

Alex gave me a small shrug, "I didn't expect to actually make a good friend." He said smirking at me and my face turned a light shade of red.

I shrugged "Aw, shucks." I said playfully, "I'm just a welcoming person." Alex laughed softly shaking his head a little.

"You're too cute." He told me softly and I looked at him confused as he looked back at the road focusing on it intently.

"T-thanks." I stuttered out. I wasn't used to compliments. Especially being called cute, I was hardly ever called cute. He looked at me giving me a grin.

His eyes widened a little as he stared at me curiously. I rose an eyebrow glancing back at him, "what?" I asked forgetting that he was driving and staring at me.

Suddenly I heard a loud honk and I looked ahead of me. I screamed loudly as Alex looked in front of him, his eyes wide.

A bright light shown into the window shield.
