Nightmare's POV
I woke up with a start as I heard loud noises. I stood up and realised it must be morning and there were heaps more people around. I decided to test my disguise and walked up to girl around my age. She was reasonably tall with short red hair, and with blue jeans and a light blue shirt.
"Hey, do you know who I am?" I asked her. She whipped around startled and shocked. She seemed to examine me before shaking her head from side to side.
"No sorry. Should I know you from somewhere?" She asked, clearly confused. A smile spread on my face. Yes! It was working!
"No that's ok. But do you know where I am?" I asked, she looked even more confused.
"Uh, you're in New York. Are you ok?"
"Um, I'm fine. Well, gotta go. Thanks." I answered and was about to walk off when-
"My name's Lydia. What's yours?"
"Oh. Um. Uh." I was having a mental blank. What was my fake name again? Uh. "It's um. G g g, Grace! Yes! My name's Grace!" I said happily. Lydia looked at me either warily or worriedly, I couldn't really tell. "Oh. Uh, my name's Grace." I said suddenly feeling awkward, oops.
"Well, it's nice to meet you Grace." She said uncertainly and I nodded. Feeling very awkward now I walked off. Eek. That was dreadful, I'm lucky she didn't realise.
Lydia's POV
I watched the strange girl walk off. I thought I knew her from somewhere, but where? Hm. Curious, I followed her. She was standing in an alleyway. She looked deep in thought. I walked over to her. While walking, I felt myself step on something. I looked down to see a piece of paper. I picked it up to see a torn wanted picture of Nightmare. Nightmare was very deadly. But I wasn't scared, I'd dealt with abnormal stuff before. Maybe Grace knew something about her? Well, one way to find out. I walked right up to her and tapped her on the shoulder.
She jumped up and whipped around to face me. Her face was very shocked.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!?" She yelled. I took a step back.
"DID YOU FOLLOW ME?!? Why?!?" She yelled backing me into a corner. Uh oh.
"I, just, uh." I struggled to find out what to say.
"What?! Spit it out!" She said clearly very angry at me.
"I was just, uh, wondering. If I actually did know you from somewhere." I said and she took a step away from me. I took a few deep breaths.
Nightmare's POV
"No. You don't. Now, back. Off." I said threateningly.
"Ok ok. But you don't perhaps know anything about that Nightmare girl, do you?" She asked. I started to panic a little, but tried not to show it. Was she on to me? No, she couldn't be. We just met!
"N-no. I, uh, I don't." I replied losing my anger and replacing it with fear and worry.
"Oookay." She said uncertainly and started to walk away.
"Wait." She said and turned around. "How did you know her name was Nightmare? I hacked that information, and I didn't tell anybody." I gulped.
"Oh. Well I kinda just, assumed. I mean, who else would you be talking about? Heh." I replied and smiled nervously. She shrugged and walked off. I sighed in relief. That was close, too close.
