Hayley’s P.O.V

I woke up the next morning and Josh wasn’t beside me. I automatically sat up in bed.

“Josh!?” I called out.

No reply.

I heard some noise coming from the bathroom, so I got up and headed towards it. The door was wide open, and Josh was there, his head hanging over the toilet.

“Josh? Are you okay?” I asked him.

He looked up at me.

“Yeah,” He said, getting up from the toilet, “I just feel sick.” He concluded.

“Josh, you took heroin last night.” I told him.

“I know.” Was all he said, then he walked by me and returned to the bed. I followed him. I was working today, but I’d take the day off to make sure Josh was okay.

Josh’s P.O.V

Hayley followed me into the bedroom. I wish I could of given her more explanations, but I couldn’t. All I remembered was that there were some of my friends smoking heroin and they had offered me some. Self harm. That was the first word that had come to my mind when I had looked at the joint. I had taken the joint and after that it’s all blurred out, I don’t quite remember.

“What happened?” I asked Hayley.

“I don’t really know, Josh. I saw you smoking something, so I went over to you, and it turned out you were smoking heroin,” She hesitated a little, “I backed away because I just didn’t know what to do. But I couldn’t let you keep on smoking, so I went back and I kissed you,” She blushed a little before continuing, “It was the only thing I could thing about to get you distracted. So I kissed you then I brought you here. We watched T.V for a while and at one point we fell asleep.” She finished.

So I had kissed Hayley. Wow. It kind of sucked that I had been on heroin for our first kiss.

“Oh…” I replied to her. I couldn’t really think what else to reply.

“Anyways, what do you want to do today?” She asked me.

“Um…Lie in bed and watch T.V cuddled to you?” I half asked half stated.

“Awe, sure.” She said, smiling. She came and sat down beside me, grabbed the remote control on the night table and turned on the T.V.

At this point I wasn’t really sure if I was in love with Hayley or not. Maybe a little. I didn’t know. But I knew one thing for sure; I was in love with heroin. Nothing could change that.

“Josh?” Hayley asked.

“Yes?” I said, looking at her.

“Why did you take it?” She asked me.

“I don’t know.” I said. I couldn’t tell her about the self harm, so I just went with I don’t know. She didn’t say anything, she was mindlessly flipping through the channels, until she found one that seemed to suit her. She lay her head on my shoulder, sighing.

Then she got up.

“I’ll be right back, I have to call in sick at work.” She told me.

“Okay.” I said.

She came back about five minutes later, smiling.

“I’m off today, all yours.” She said, winking.

“Good.” I said, winking back. She sat down beside me, coming closer.

I looked at her. Although I could lie down and cuddle her all day long, I decided I wanted to do something else with her.
