Hermione's POV
I was sitting next to Ginny in the Potions classroom, basically freezing my hair off. I blatantly refused to sit next to Malfoy, whether he was my partner or not.
"Hello students! Today we will start by making your child! Please sit beside your partner for this project," Professor Slughorn chirped. I sighed loudly, earning another sympathetic look from Ginny. She went and sat next to Terry as I remained in my seat. There was no way I was getting up. Malfoy had to come to me.
Unfortunately, I think he had the same idea, because he was childishly sitting in his chair with his arms crossed while everyone around him moved to sit next to their partners. We ended up glaring at each other, daring the other to get up.
Once everyone was situated, Slughorn looked around merrily. His face fell when he saw me and Malfoy on opposite sides of the room. I could've sworn I heard him give a sigh of disappointment.
"Miss Granger, if you could please grab your things and sit beside Mr. Malfoy? He is your partner, I presume?" Slughorn asked, but it sounded more like a statement than a question.
I huffed and walked over to Malfoy, noticing the huge smirk on his face. "Congratulations," I muttered, which just made him smirk wider.
Slughorn shook his head and began to speak again. "Now, to successfully make a child in this process, you much each add a single hair from your head to boiling pot of mermaid acid, which has the most magical properties for this purpose. You will find that the acid is already in the cauldron, you just need to heat it to 370. Now off to work."
Everyone looked around nervously. I would guess that we all had the same thought: We're going to produce a child from acid?
Malfoy crossed his arms again. "You may do the honors," he said smugly. Trying to make me do all the work, was he?
I crossed my arms the same way he had. "Honestly Malfoy, it's not that hard to heat the cauldron. Do something yourself for once instead of getting other people to do it for you."
"If it's so easy, then you do it!" he defensively yelled at me. We kept bickering until Professor Slughorn marched right up to our table.
"Mr. Malfoy, Miss Granger, I will not tolerate this childish behavior. You are two grown adults for Merlin's sake!" he hissed at us. Then, he waved his wand and the cauldron started to boil.
When Slughorn walked away, Malfoy rolled his eyes. "Nice going Granger, he scoffed. "Now you've got the teacher mad at us." I scowled.
"Let's just get this over with," I sighed, giving up on the argument. I pulled out one of my curly hairs and put it in the cauldron. I expectantly looked at Malfoy, who genuinely seemed like he wasn't going to follow suit.
"Oh there is so no way I am pulling out a hair from my head, it's too precious!" he said defensively, touching his blonde head. I raised my eyebrows and reached my hand up to his head.
"Hey! What are you--?" he started to ask before I plucked a short straight hair and dropped it into the cauldron.
Malfoy looked at where his precious hair had gone. "Oh grow up," I said, rolling my eyes.
What felt like seconds later, a beautiful baby girl was sitting in now empty cauldron, wrapped in a blanket. I looked shockingly at it and so did Malfoy.
Draco's POV
Well, that was fast. Before I knew it, I was looking at baby in a pot. That'll be a story to tell.
Granger reached forward and picked up the baby. She then looked up at me and said, "Well congratulations, Malfoy. You're a father."
I actually fell out of my chair.
A/N Hi!!! I actually might update again later tonight, but I thought that this was a perfect place to end this chapter. I really hope you guys liked it :)
