You POV
I woke up and walked into the kitchen. I quickly found myself in Mark's arms. His gentle lips against my heated cheek and I knew I was gonna be okay. Mark was gonna make sure nothing would ever happen to me. He was gonna protect me.I held him a little tighter. Missing him was so miserable and now I don't have to worry about it. I trust him with my life. We slowly made are way to the couch, then fell into it. I swung my legs over his lap and ran my hand down his face. The little hairs of his unshaven face prickled my hand but it felt like heaven to me. He looked into my eyes with so much love that I almost didn't know what to do with it. Suddenly the phone rang and through us both off. "I'll get it," I whispered to him as I made my way to the counter. "Hello?" I asked lightly. "Hey hun," I heard from a mans voice I didn't recognize. "Who is this?" I asked a little concerned as I griped the phone a little tighter. Mark turned and looked up into my worried filled eyes. "You're father," the man said. "I wanted to let you know I was coming to L.A to see you." I took a deep breath to hide the fact that I didn't want this. "No," I said. "I don't want to see you." I heard a chuckle from the man who claimed to be my father. "Why not?" I bit down on my lip for a few seconds. "Maybe," I started. "It's the fact I... Wait a minute." Suddenly I realized that my father was beat to death by the police. The images quickly possessed my brain. "Who are you!" I yelled into the phone. "Your father," He replied. "No your not. My father is dead and has been for a while." I began to get bitter. "Fine, you know what! I'm your dad but I'm still coming this weekend so you better be prepared!" The man hissed into my ear then hung up the phone. I stood there, frozen for a second. I slowly put the phone back in its spot and stared at the wall. "Babe? Are you okay?" Mark asked me, taking me out of my trance. "Yeah," I lied. "I'm fine. Today's Wednesday. I'm gonna do a lot of cleaning this week." I was really scared. I have no idea who this man was and what time he was coming. All I knew is I wanted a perfect house just in case.
Saturday Morning...
I did small touch ups around the house and small touch ups to both Mark and I's appearance. I am surprised Mark isn't completely annoyed but I explained to him what happened over the phone. Maybe he understands. I don't see how he could possibly understand but I do appreciate that he does. I constantly looked at the time and checked my phone. I got more nervous as time past. I quickly turned on some classical music on the television and made the books on the bookshelf look perfect. What am I even doing? Why do I care so much? This better be worth it. I walked into the bathroom and looked at myself to make sure I looked perfect then walked back into the kitchen. I put the perfect meal out on the table in a perfect and organized fashion. I couldn't help myself. If I saw one small little imperfect thing, I quickly fixed it. Finally after the long wait I heard a knock on the door. I quickly brushed my hands on my apron and pulled my dress down a little then walked over to the door. I took a quick breath then slowly opened the door. My jaw dropped at the sight of who it was.
