I'm not dead!

Kailee skipped along the sidewalk, still in her white dress that somehow was still perfectly clean. The boys guessed it had something to do with her being an Angel.

"So Danny, when you going to tell Kailee you like her?" Jason nudged him, smirking.

"What are you talking about? I like Angel, but I don't like, like her. She's just a friend." Danny insisted.

"And you Guardian Angel. You also call her Angel. That screams 'I like you!'" Darry added.

"Angel doesn't seem to think that." Danny pointed out.

Jason rolled his eyes. "Of course not. She barely knew what pain was. She was also rejected in Heaven. She wouldn't know the first thing about love." Jason told him.

This thought saddened Danny a bit. If Kailee didn't know what love was, how could he ever tell her he did like her.

'I don't like Angel!' Danny scolded himself.

"If that's the case, even if I did like her, how would I tell her?" Danny asked.

"I sure she does know what love is, but she probably doesn't know how it's expressed when it's more than just family." Darry reassured him.

"Whatever. I don't like her, anyway." Danny grumbled.

"Tell that to your cheeks, lover boy." Darry teased.

"Why you little-!"

"Danny!" A female voice screamed.

He turned his head to look at Kailee who was about 10 feet ahead of them and smiling.

Everybody had turned their heads to look at them. Danny noticed. Kailee was oblivious as always.

He hurried towards her, not really wanting to yell from 10 feet away like Kailee did.

"Yeah?" He asked, while Darry and Jason rushed towards them, too.

"Can we go there?" She pointed towards the gate leading to the park.

All 3 boys smiled. "Sure Angel." Danny told her.

She smiled brightly, and hurried towards the park.

She looked just like a little kid at his first amusement park.

Danny smiled and followed her, along with Darry and Jason.

Kailee was 16, but Earth made her act like the most innocent child.

Kailee kicked her legs as hard as she could. She swung high and closed her eyes, laughing loudly.

She loved this. How could she not know what swings were before!

Danny, Jason and Darry sat on the bench watching Kailee swing and laugh.

"You do realize people are staring at her?" Jason said to them.

"Yeah. Who wouldn't? She's 16, but I don't really think she cares. She's having too much fun." Darry said and pointed to her, proving his point.

"Do you think she'll be okay?" Danny blurted.

Both boys raised their eyebrows at him. "What do you mean?" Darry asked.

"This whole place is new to her. She doesn't talk like us, she doesn't understand too many things. I just don't want people to make fun of her." Danny sighed.

"You so like her." Jason smiled smugly.

"Jason!" Danny glared at the boy.

"Sorry! Anyway, I think she'll be okay. I mean, she's pretty oblivious and if people insult her, she might just smile and thank them." Jason said.

"If she does understand she's being insulted, I think she can handle herself." Jason added, reassuring the raven haired boy.

"I guess your right. Thanks." Danny smiled, still watching the swinging, brown haired girl.

"No problem, dude."

"Hey! What are you doing?!" They heard a man yell.

The group looked to see Kailee in a tree, being yelled at.

"I took my eyes off her for 3 seconds!" Danny exclaimed.

"I'm sorry!" Kailee screamed.

"What's going on here?" Danny demanded.

"This girl had the nerve to climb the trees when the signs say not to!" The man yelled, red in the face.

"I did not see the signs. I am trying to apologize! I do not understand why you must be so cruel!" Kailee yelled back.

"Get down here, you weird talking girl!" He growled.

She huffed, but got down all the same.

She jumped and landed in front of the man.

"Satisfied?" She questioned sassily.

"Not really." He glared at her. Kailee glared back.

"Besides, who are you to tell her to get down?" Danny challenged.

"I own this park, boy. And I intend to keep it intact." The man spat.

"What kind of park doesn't let kids climb trees?" Darry asked.

"Mine. And this girl is not a child, obviously." The man laughed bitterly.

"No, I am not. But you are, seeing how childish you are acting." Kailee spoke.

"You little-" Kailee cut him off.

"Be quiet. We are leaving. Good riddance!" Kailee stuck her nose in the air and dragged the boys out of the park.

"Wow Angel! I didn't know you had it in you!" Danny laughed.

"What is 'it'?" Kailee asked.

Jason chuckled. "It means we didn't know you had the courage to do something like that. Usually people say guts though."

Kailee smiled proudly. "I do have the guts to do that. I guess you boys are rubbing off on me."

They all went slack jawed.

"What?" Kailee asked.

"You just used an expression!"

"You mean 'rubbing off on me'?" Kailee asked.

They nodded.

"Danny's mom taught me a few." Kailee smiled.

Danny laughed, and soon Darry, Jason and Kailee were joining in.

People gave them weird looks, but at that moment they didn't care.

They didn't feel the stares.

They didn't see the stares.

They didn't acknowledge the stares.

They all just laughed along to their joke, that no one else could probably understand.
