Danny sat there on the rocking chair in the living room as Kailee walked through the door.
He had bags under his eyes, and she knew it was because he waited for her.
She tried to ignore the guilty feeling in her gut.
"I'm tired of this, Kailee. You need to tell me what happened to you. You need to tell me what's up." Danny narrowed his tired eyes at her.
Kailee copied him. "I don't need to do anything."
"Your my Guardian Angel. You guard me. You protect me. Now it's my turn." He snapped.
"I'm not your Guardian Angel, Danny." Kailee threw back.
"What's that supposed to mean?!" He yelled. "Does it mean you don't care anymore?! Does that mean that you give up!?"
"NO!" Her words came out in a demonic growl.
Danny's eyes widened at the voice. This wasn't Kailee...
"Your not Kailee... are you?" He asked slowly.
Kailee's eyes widened. 'He doesn't think I'm me? Well, I guess I'm not really acting like I use to.'
"I'm Kailee. Sorry to burst your bubble." Kailee sassed.
"Your not the girl I met in my backyard. Your not the girl that asked me to take her to the park and talked so obliviously." Danny said.
"No, I'm not. But nobody replaced me."
"I don't believe you." Danny said angrily. "Where's Kailee? What did you do to her, you monster!"
Kailee froze, her body going rigid.
'Monster...'
"I'M NOT A MONSTER! I'M NOT!!" She screamed in her demonic voice.
She was so mad, so angry and depressed. So betrayed...
Her beanie that covered her blue fire horns and pointed ears burned to ashes.
Her tail unfurled from her waist, lashing back and forth while the tip was on fire just like her horns.
Her claws ripped her gloves as they tore through the leather.
Her disguised eyes burned, dissolving the drops that colored her eyes, turning her pupil back to its crimson color.
She scowled, not facing away or mumbling to hide the deadly fangs she had.

Danny's eyes widened when he saw her appearance.
It looked like a demon.
Demon, demon, demon...
"You're not Kailee, you demon..." He whispered.
Kailee growled. "This is who I truly am! I knew you would never accept me!" She shrieked.
His mind flashed back to the last few months.
"Do not call me Angel! Never call me Angel! I am not! I never was!"
"Leave me alone! Just leave me alone and go away!"
And what she said to him when he climbed the tree to get her. She said it so coldly... so sadly...
"Quit trying to help me, Danny. You can't help me. I'm too far gone and I was never who people said I was. I'm far from innocent and nice as you can get. I'm not who you think I am. I'm not who I thought I was. So quit before you get hurt."
He regretted calling her a monster.
"Kailee, why didn't you tell me? You could've been honest. It doesn't matter to me..." He said.
Kailee's shoulders shook with silent sobbing. "Who could love a demon?"
'Me...' He thought, but he knew she only meant it in a friendly way.
He walked towards her with no hesitation and hugged her.
Kailee froze in his hold, but relaxed after and few seconds and cried into his shoulder, her claws unconsciously digging slightly in his back.
"What am I going to do?" She asked after she pulled away. "I was never an Angel. Only a demon who was given illusions of an Angel's features. How can I go back? What will CeCe, Darry and Jason think? What will your mom think?!"
Danny's eyes scanned his crush's appearance.
She looked like a demon in every way. It seemed so natural too. As he pictured her wings on her, they didn't seem to fit her. They never did, he realized.
"There's something more to this, isn't there? More than being a demon..." He knew.
"Yeah, there is. I'm a demon, Danny. But not any demon. It's kind of ironic, though." Kailee laughed, but it was dry with no humor. "God adopts and cares for a demon, Satan's daughter at that."
"Your the daughter of the King of Hell?"
"Yeah. Makes you feel disgusted, right?" Kailee guessed.
"Not at all. Just makes me love you even more." Danny accidentally spoke.
Both of their eyes widened. Both flushed heavily, Kailee's cheeks matching her pupil.
"You... love me?" She sqeaked, embarrassed.
"Uh, yeah. It was... kind of... a secret, but you know... I kinda blurted it out. Heh." He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.
"I love you too." Kailee said quickly.
Danny had to do a double take. "Wha?" It was a pretty stupid thing to say, and it sounded pretty dumb too.
"I love you too." She repeated.
Danny smiled and smashed his lips to hers. Kailee panicked before closing her eyes and kissing back.
When they pulled away, Kailee noticed his lip was bleeding.
"I got you with my fang, didn't I?" Kailee blushed.
He laughed, licking the blood off his lip. He winked. "Maybe a little."
Kailee blushed harder. Her tail curled around her leg in embarrassment. It was able to wrap all the way to her ankle.
Danny saw this and smiled. She was cute, even as a demon.
He pressed his lips to hers again and Kailee immediately kissed back, even after being caught off guard.
Neither of them noticed Kailee's tail wagging happily, making the flame at the end trail a blue light back and forth in the dark room.

In the morning, both were still tired. They had been up since 1:24 in the morning.
Kailee yawned and looked over to see Danny, still fast asleep.
She knew he was tired because he had spent his days worrying over her for the past few months.
She still felt guilty.
She slowly and stealthily got out of bed and traipsed to the kitchen.
She was searching for cereal when CeCe came walking in the door.
"Danny, are you h- AHHHHH!" She screamed, but was cut off as Kailee slapped a hand over her mouth.
CeCe nervously looked at Kailee's new appearance.
She expected Kailee to explain what was going on.
But all she said was, "Be quiet. Danny's still asleep."
