Chris took me to some fancy designer stores in Miami to buy the dress for that night. He insisted on paying it but I refused. Fortunately I also have credit cards and money to buy my own stuff. After two exhausting hours I ended up buying a Donna Karan ankle length, one-strap blue navy dress.
"You look like a greek goddess in that," Chris said smiling while I was paying my purchase.
I smiled back, not knowing what to answer. Thank you for melting me inside? Or thanks a lot for saying that when we're just friends and I can't kiss you? Well, everything could've work in that moment because Chris was still waiting for an answer.
"Shall we go?" I spoke. Chris nodded, disappointed of my lack of words. "But wait, I want vanilla milkshake!"
Chris giggled a bit. "I love your sudden cravings, I want some too!"
I ran to the first milkshake store we could find, dragging a smiling man with me. "Let me breath, God, Anna!" Chris said between pants.
"Milkshake doesn't give you the chance to take a breath," I mocked him. "Can I have a vanilla milkshake with some marshmallows and chocolate syrup please?"
"Looks like tonight's gonna be the third time I'll take you to the hospital," he snickered. "A bubblegum milkshake with some Haribos on it for me, please."
I laughed. "Okay, both of us in the hospital because of a sugar overdose, sounds like a plan!"
"Maybe another time, tonight we have a party!" Chris was super excited about that. For me, it was the most boring plan, ever.
"For a guy who has anxiety disorders is not too bad to be that excited!" I spat.
Chris glared at me. Okay, I know, it was rude. "Don't play with that, I'll take my meds and drink something before, okay?"
I nodded as I took my 16oz full of sugar drink. Our brains were frozen enough to laugh out loud in our way to the car park. We went straight to the hotel to take a shower and get ready for that stupid party. Well, I was excited but not that excited, I mean, I was gonna meet a lot of celebrities and that stuff but the press and the social judgment got me pretty scared.
I decided to curl my hair ends, my makeup was very elaborate, like if some prestigious makeup artist have decorated my face. And yes, I looked pretty good in that dress, like my friend said: a greek goddess. All of that in front a bored Chris who was almost falling asleep while waiting for me to get ready. He was wearing a white shirt, a pair of dark-blue trousers and he looked hot as fuck.
"Wake up, sleepy head, we're going!" I tapped his cheek. He opened his eyes a bit overwhelmed about what he was seeing.
"Am I in heaven?" He said with a husky voice. "You look, wow!" He was under the effect of his pills, they seemed to work perfectly.
"Let's go!" It was gonna be a long night, I was already tired.
We got into the fancy limo every celebrity rides when going to events like that one. I was getting nervous, my hands were sweating and my heart was pounding.
"Hey, are you nervous?" Chris asked quietly.
"No, not at all," I answered looking through the window, and before he could take my sweaty, horrendous hand, I spoke again. "Can I go back to the hotel? I promise I'll stay in my room, maybe I'll just drive to get some pizza but nothing else, I promise. Please?"
Chris chuckled. "No An, there's no way back! Everything will be okay."
Here we go again with the 'everything will be okay' damn stuff.
