The library was always Tobin's favorite place. She walked through the aisles running her fingers across each book. She could feel each of them. Every letter, every syllable whispering to her soul.
She remembered learning that books had feelings too. They had personality, and thoughts, and ideas. Her hair was thrown back in a loose ponytail.
Her flip-flops were begging to be thrown aside, her sweats gave away how late she woke up. She was looking for the perfect story to take her away.
Harry Potter was always a good choice, but she needed to fall in love. As she neared the end of the aisle she felt the familiar feeling of electricity buzz thru her finger tips. She was looking for Empress of the World.
Her urgency increased as she rounded the corner, and then it was gone.
Breathing became a foreign concept, and language a stranger. Her eyes were being held prisoner by the ocean, and her feet tethered to the earth.
The girl stood before her; waiting for Tobin to make her move. Her eyes taking all of Tobin in. Etching the moment into her memory.
The girls stood in the middle of thier college library. Not a word spoken, not a move made.
It was over before it happened. Alex was left, books in hand, as Tobin turned and walked away.
