Chapter Nineteen: Demise

Levi's POV:

How could Mikasa have possibly gotten ahold of Kieran? I placed two of the best guards down there with him. How the hell did she get past them?

"Tell me all that you know!" I demanded.

The officer looked over at me and sighed.

"I was going to relieve Dreyse from duty when I saw her and Freudenberg lying on the floor. They were both unconscious but seemed to be unharmed. I walked closer to see that the prisoner had escaped. I thought that he was the one who knocked out the guards but Dreyse started to wake up. When she was fully conscious, she told me that Mikasa had come down and attacked them," he said.

"Damn," I muttered, "I should have know better."

"What do you mean?" asked the officer.

"I took her down to see him awhile ago with Armin Arlet," I replied.

That girl.

I should have seen it.

She thought he was dead, and now she was going to kill him.

"Do you know where they are right now?" I asked.

"Yes," replied the officer, "Hange saw her riding out on a horse with a person in a cloak. She said that she didn't pay her any mind because she thought she was with Eren."

"You didn't answer my question," I said harshly.

"Sorry captain," he apologized, "She thinks they were headed out towards Castle Utgard."

"Leave me," I growled.

As I continued to walk down the hall, the officer stopped and remained behind. At the moment, I just really needed to be alone. I felt like I could just take the first person I saw and strangle them with my bare hands.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid," I muttered.

I sped my pace up and headed to the weapons room. Soon I reached the doors and swung them open. I went over to Mikasa's area and saw that she had left her 3DMG here.

"Good," I said muttered.

She'd better not be doing anything dumb.

I rushed over to the captain's area and grabbed my gear. I quickly put it on then snatched my cloak and tossed it over my shoulders. I turned around and angrily strode out of the door that led to the stable.

Right as I took a step in, I saw Hange swing up onto her horse. She was fully equipped and looked like she was also about to to something dumb.

"The hell are you doing?" I asked.

"What does it looked like?" she replied in a serious voice, "I'ts my fault that they got away. I should have realized that she was with him. I'm sorry Levi."

"You can apologize all you want, but you're not coming with me," I said as I walked over to my horse.

I tightened the saddle then stepped into the stirrup and swung up. I grabbed the reigns then looked over to see Hange giving me a weird look.

"What is it shitty glasses?" I spat out.

"I'm coming whether you want me to or not," she replied," right after Feulner came up to me, I realized what had happened."

"Feulner," I said quietly, "is that the name of the officer who alerted me?"

"Gosh," she sighed, "would it kill you to be social for once and learn people's names?"

"Yes," I said quickly, "now get out of my way. I'm leaving."

I led my horse to the middle of the stable and waited for her to move. Instead of moving out of my way, she led her horse over to the stable doors and opened them.
