"you ready angel?" lukas asked for the umpteenth time, but instead of expressing my annoyance i simply nod a yes to my gingered haired friend and jump into lex's saddle once more, but properly this time.

"i challenge you to a race to the new HQ!" karma yelled as he shot passed us, galloping at full speed in the direction of survey corps headquarters. even though we were supposed to ride there with commander smith, my competitive side decided to show itself and humor karmas silly games.

"you're on!" i shouted. i snap the reins and in response lex shot forward. i caught up with karma quickly, "you're too slow elis! gotta go fast!" lex was much faster than karmas horse, card, and he knew this very well. i liked to ride fast, it made me feel like i was flying almost, i loved my steed more than i loved my maneuver gear which was saying something because on 3dmg, you basically were flying.

i left karma in the dust as i rode on, to my new life, to new freedom, to a new home, and maybe even new friends, there's only so much of those three i could take.

~~~timeskip~~~
i've been riding for almost an hour at full speed, lex didn't mind, he liked to move along as fast as i did. the path we were on was way longer than it needed to be, so i slowed him down enough to make a successful turn and we proceeded on with a quick trot. the path led around a large hill, the hill was green and grassy, deserted even. the hill was just as i remembered it, it was steep, but you could climb it with a horse if you knew what you were doing. i slowly weaved lex along the the twisty path that could get me to the top of the hill. on the other side it was just a long gentle slope to the west of the castle the scouts call home.
my stomach suddenly uttered a low rumble, requesting food. i thought that something of this sort would happen, because i missed lunch whilst playing with my horse. i hopped off of lex, and took a small loaf of bread out. there seemed to be no movement in the castle as i looked at it from the grassy hill. the bread i was munching on was hard and had too much yeast, but that was always the way it tasted when it came from the mess hall.
"who the hell are you?" said a unpleasantly familiar voice. the two toned hair boy from before said from behind me. i said nothing and kept munching on the awful tasting bread. he just sighed and sat next to me, also looking at the castle. "do you have a death wish or something? because-" he started.
"listen i want to get along, but you need to realize i will not tolerate being scolded for my own reasons, so back the hell off man," i interrupted the shocked boy.
"Jean Kirstein," he put his hand out for me to shake, "let's start over, you're right, you have your own reasons and i should just accept that,"
"you seem desperate for friends, feel like sharing?" i asked and shook his hand.
"not until i get a name," he smirked.
"oh well," i said standing up and walking to my horse, leaving a shocked jean behind. i spun on my heel and gave him an innocent smile, "i don't give information to strangers!"
"i gave you my name! that means i'm not a stranger!" jean says matter of factly.
"a name doesn't classify a person as jack shit. you define people on their actions, and so far you seem more like a stalker than a friend." i show a sly smirk before mounting Lex once again, riding towards survey corps HQ. i turn and yell over my shoulder, "Avidazen!" and turn back to the structure of stone.
Avidazen is German for util we see again
