Billy's Pov
I was laying in my bed thinking of what I needed to do today. My wife was at work already. We've only been married for 5 weeks now and Eve went back to work already. But I guess that's all right. I got out of my bed and looked at my cell and saw that I had a miss call from dad. I better call him back and see what's up with him or the family.
"Hey son how are you?" Dad asked me.
"I'm doing good today, how are you doing?" I asked him. I haven't seen him, mama, my brothers and my sister in 3 weeks now. We are still living in Eve's apartment 35 miles away from Jefferson and I hate it here more and more each day.
"We are fine. How's married life treating you?" Dad asked me. It's good to hear his voice again.
"Fine, I guess." I said to him, walking into the kitchen to get some food. I haven't found a job yet since moving here. I only left the factory because Eve got a better paid job in the city. Thank God I still get my Navy Cheek of $2,500 each month.
"Still haven't found a job?" Dad asked me.
"No sir. Every time I walk into the bosses office and they read my report and then nothing?" I told him.
"Why won't you and Eve move back home? The house you built in the back forty is still there, waiting for a family to move into it?" Dad told me. I started on the log home when I was 16 years old and when I went to the Navy I had to put it on the back burner for a while. But every time I got to come home on leave I would do more and more to the house. It's all but done. All I have to do is some TLC to it.
"I wish. Eve won't move back there, because of her new job at the Lawyer's office." I told dad. Eve is now a lawyer at one of the most biggest lawyer's in the state of Georgia.
"Well, you know you can and so can she." Dad told me.
"Maybe for a visit real soon." I said to him. And of course she didn't go food shopping again.
"Well, I'll let you go. I just wanted to hear your voice. I miss you son." Dad told me.
"Even with 3 other children in the house, you still miss me and my voice." I asked him.
"Yep you know it son. Love you old man." Dad sad to me.
"Okay love you too old man. And I'll see if we can come down this weekend." I said to dad.
"Sweet. I won't tell your mama, just call me and let me know okay son." Dad said to me.
"Will do pops tell mama I love her and I'll call you on Friday okay dad. I have to go. We need food in this place?" I said to him.
"Okay son. Bye." Dad said to me.
"Bye dad?" I hung up my phone and took off my clothes and got in the shower and started to get clean. I can't walk around the apartment all the time, because we have neighbors that watches us like a hawk. Just like dad said about me when I was younger, I love to be naked most of the time.
I got my wallet and hoped in my 2014 Ram 3500 Truck. I would love to take my bike out it's a 2009 Harley Davidson XL, but I need to food shop. Maybe Eve and I will take the bike back home this weekend to see everyone.
After spending a little over $400 on food I was back at the apartment. I hate living in the city I'm to much of a country boy, but the wife likes it better, so here we are. I got all of the bags inside of the house and I heard people talking. I walked into the living room and saw my wife and 2 men all talking.
"Hello." I said to them all.
"Oh, there you are. Billy these are the two lawyer's I work with. This is Levi O'Neal and John Harris. Boys this is my husband Billy Gilbert." Eve said to them
"Hi. Nice to meet you y'all?" I said to them.
"We didn't know that Eve was married to a country boy." John I think said to me.
"Hell I didn't even know she was married at all?" The other man said. Eve still goes by her last name. Eve Plum, after we got married.
"Yep she sure did?" I told them
"So, what do you do for a living?" Levi asked me.
"Well, I was in the Navy for 8 years, then I worked in the factory in Jefferson, before moving here?" I told them.
"So, you aren't working now?" They both looked at me.
"Nope. That's the city for ya?" I told them. Eve looked pissed off.
"Well, we was born and raised here?" John told me.
"That's good. Babe can I talk to you?" I asked her.
"Sure. Hang on boys and then we will get back to what we was doing?" Eve said. We walked into the kitchen, so we could talk.
"Babe, this weekend we need to go up to Jefferson. I want to see my family again." I asked her.
"This weekend?" Eve said.
"Yes." I said to her.
"I can't I have a meet on Friday and a lot of paper's to do by the time Monday get's here. I'll be living in the office most of the weekend any way." Eve told me.
"Fine. I'll call dad back up and tell him we can't come up." I told her.
"You go." Eve said to me.
"What?" I said to her.
"Well, yeah. I'm going to be in and out of the office and I won't be here tonight at all." Eve said to me.
"Not even tonight?" I asked her.
'Nope. I was only home so I can change. You go. Tomorrow is Friday, leave tonight." Eve said to me.
"Well, are you sure?" I asked her.
"Nope. Go." Eve told me.
"Okay thanks babe." I said to her. I was going down to kiss her, but she moved her head so I got the cheek. Really. I'm your husband and you gave me the cheek.
"Well, I better get the boys back to the office. See you on what Monday, Tuesday." Eve said.
"One or the other" I told her.
"Good. Come on boys let's get back to the office now." Eve said to John and Levi.
"Nice to meet you?" I said to them.
"You too cowboy." John said to me. I watched as they walked out of the apartment and got in Eve's new car and drove away. Well, I might as well get on my bike and drive up and see mama and dad for a few days. I have my father to thank about riding motorcycles. He had 3 of them growing up and now I have my own. I got on my bike and pulled out of the parking lot like a bat out of hell. The one good thing about going home is mama's homemade cooking and well, seeing Soph and Angeletta again.
