TRIS' POV

I'm currently walking around the compound trying to find Will. As I said to Christina yesterday, I don't think he cheated on her, but there's always a slight possibility.

I enter the cafeteria and I spot him eating alone.

I walk up to the table and sit in front of him. "Hey Tris" he says with a smile "Hi".

Here we go

"So, Christina came crying to my apartment yesterday because she saw you hugging a girl after choosing our jobs and, apparently, when she asked you, you were nervous. Care to explain?" I say raising an eyebrow.

"Oh. Well..." he scratches the back of his neck "So, I'm planning on proposing to Chris. That girl was a friend of mine in Erudite. I asked her if she could make a special ring for her and she came to give it to me"

I am shocked. I clearly wasn't expecting that.

Marriage? Now? Really?

Don't get me wrong, I love them being together but, isn't a little early for that?

Oh well, if that's what makes them happy.

"Congratulations. I"m happy for you two" I say with a wide smile. I get up and hug him "Thank you" he says smiling too "but please, don't tell her anything. I want it to be a surprise" "Of course" I nod.

"Well, I should get going." I say starting to walking towards the door. "Bye Tris".

"So, what did he say?"

I went to Christina's to calm her down and let her know that everything's fine.

"He told me she was an old friend of his back in Erudite. Don't worry about it"

Not entirely a lie. She was a friend of his from Erudite.

Christina watches me carefully to see if I'm lying. When she realizes I'm not, she tackles me and hugs me. "Oh my god, I was so worried that he didn't love me anymore. Thank you for talking to him. You're the best"
