The Big Secret

So it’s the weekend and I have absolutely nothing to do since I am grounded. My first week of college has been boring, except for the first day. I hadn’t spoken to Marcus all week ever since the night out with him and his friends. I still sat next to Liam in Biology but I was still quite angry with him for telling my Dad about Marcus. I spoke to him when we had to do group work and that was it. Gareth had calmed down a bit with Liam but still made sly remarks when no one was listening. I still wasn’t allowed my laptop but since it was the weekend my Dad allowed me to have my phone back but I was expecting some texts from Marcus but got none. My heart dropped when I realised Marcus hadn’t wanted to text me and see if I was alright but it didn’t surprise me since he hadn’t spoken to me all week as well. I told Kate the story and she went mad at me as well and had stopped talking to me for a day but she got over it and asked all about our ‘date’ as Kate called it but I always denied it was an actual date.

So here I am lying on my bed bored with no texts so I just turned off my phone. I hope something interesting happens soon otherwise I might go mad. I heard a knock on the front door so I left my room to hope it was someone interesting to talk to or just watch my Dad have a conversation with and laugh with them every so often. I slowly made my way downstairs and saw Liam with Paul in the living room playing the Xbox. I just sat on the opposite sofa and watched them play. Paul had forgiven me if I promise not to see Marcus again and I agreed. We hadn’t really spoken but I knew he was only like this because he cared about my safety and didn’t want to lose me. I sat there for half an hour before anyone realised I was there. “Lola I never realised you were sitting there. You should play with us. I bet you are well bored with no laptop. I would not be able to survive.” Paul said getting another controller out.

“Personally I don’t want to kill zombies it is too gory for me.” I said because the sight of blood freaked me out.

“But you have been here watching us for a while.” He said which was a good point.

“I was really bored. If I play we play like Sonic or something or we can play Mario Kart on the Wii?” I explained pointing at the Wii which wasn’t set up yet. Liam hadn’t once looked up at me yet which made me feel guilty but that guilt wasn’t that bad since I was talking to Paul.

“Nahh I am alright. I would rather not play Mario Kart. Just Dance maybe but not Mario Kart.” I laughed at that suggestion.

“Okay we will play Just Dance then.” I said sticking my tongue out and grabbing the controllers and throwing one at him.

“I was joking Lo” He said laughing looking embarrassed.

“Please play I am dying from boredom here. Are you playing Liam?” I asked trying to get him to talk to me. I didn’t really understand why he stopped talking to me since I didn’t really hurt him like I hurt Paul or Kate. We weren’t even really friends just Biology buddies.

“Nahh but I think Paul should play a really girly song.” He said teasing Paul with me and eventually Paul gave up and started to dance. Obviously I won all the games and Paul looked like a weirdo dancing and Liam did end up recording him and putting it on Facebook. After about 10 songs we were tired.

“I am going to go in the shower. I never knew it was such a good workout.” He said taking his top off and throwing at me.

“Eww don’t be so disgusting.” I said throwing the top on the floor. As Paul left Liam was showing me the video of Paul dancing and we were just there laughing our heads off. I finally felt like Liam was back to normal with me again which made me happy.

Suddenly he stopped and went all silent. I carried on laughing until I noticed and his face had gone all serious. “Why did you let Marcus talk to me like that?” He questioned me. I was confused and then I realised when Marcus told him to get away from me. Was that really why he acted weird around me now?
