Ahkmenrah's POV
Today there is a banquet at the palace and I usually hate these but this time I am very excited for it. I want to dance with Katalina. I hope she wants to dance with me. I guess I should ask her if she wants to go to it first. I walked to her room and it was still quiet. I knocked on the door and I didn't get an answer. I opened the door and she was still sleeping.
"Katalina?" I said shaking her lightly. She rubbed her eyes and looked at me.
"Good Morning, Ahkmenrah." She whispered.
"Good Morning, I have to ask you a question. Do you want to go to a banquet with me tonight? If you don't want to it is okay, I completely understand."
"Ahkmenrah, I want to go with you. I think it will be fun." She said smiling at me. She stood up and hugged me.
"Okay great. Do you want to look at my mother's clothing for a dress?" I asked. She was hesitant like last time, but not as hesitant. When she finally agreed I took her where the clothing is and I let her try on the dresses. I waited outside giving her privacy.
"Tada!" I heard behind me. I turned and saw her wearing my mother's favorite dress. She looks stunning. Absolutely stunning. "Do you like?"
"I do like it. You look beautiful." She had a little blush show up on her cheeks.
"Thank you." She walked past me and towards her room.

The banquet has been going for a while now, and I kind of want to dance with Katalina. I'm nervous to ask her. But I also haven't seen her in a while. I saw her leave and go to her room.
I decided I wanted to find her so I could ask her to dance. I went to the room and knocked on the door. I didn't get an answer but I heard sniffling.
"Katalina? What's the matter?" I asked when I saw her crying. I sat next to her and pulled her into my lap. She cried a little into my chest. "What happened?"
"They do not like me." She said quietly only sniffling now.
"Who doesn't like you?" I asked confused.
"Everyone. They say I am a pale demon, and they don't like my hair." She said.
"You are not a demon. And your hair is very beautiful."
"It is not. Everyone here has black hair and I have blonde." She said upset.
"That is not your fault. Your hair makes you unique. That is the best quality anyone could have." I kissed her forehead. She nodded and looked up at me. "I actually came in to ask you if you wanted to dance with me?" I asked her.
"I would like to dance with you. But you will stay with me all night?" I nodded. We stood up and we walked back to where everyone was. Some people looked shocked that I was with Katalina.
The music was playing slowly and Katalina and I started to dance with others around. After that song, there were fast songs but we still danced until we were hungry. We went over and had some food and got some wine to drink. Someone bumped into her making her spill the wine on herself. I started laughing on accident. And then stopped myself hoping I didn't hurt her feelings. I thought I had until she spilled the rest on me. Then she was laughing.
"That's not nice!" I said while laughing. I went to get more wine to spill on her and she saw and read that and ran away laughing. I chased after her and spilled my wine on the way to her. I put the cup down and went to her with my hands in the air. She came over still laughing and hugged me.
"You laugh at me when I spilled. I laugh when I spill on you." She said smirking. I looked up and saw everyone staring at us. Most of them glaring.
"I know I shouldn't have laughed. But it was kind of funny. Your face was."
"As was yours when I put it on you." She said still laughing. She grabbed my hand and we went back to dancing together.
"You are very good at dancing," I said smiling down at her.
"You are not bad yourself. My mother and father used to dance every night with each other. I just watched."
"You learned how to dance from just watching?" I asked surprised.
"Yes. How did you learn?" She asked.
"My mother and father made me go through training when I was eight years old," I said. "I did not like that."
"This is my first real-time dancing.," She said. "I did practice, but we were never invited to the parties of the city." We continued to dance not talking to each other until I pulled her away from dancing. "We are done?" She asked a little disappointed.
"We will dance again. I am just resting for a little bit." She nodded. And we sat down. I took off my crown and set it next to me. "Do you want to wear it? You can be me tomorrow."
"I will not be you tomorrow, but I will wear it. But without this." She said pointing to my wesekh. I laughed lightly and she put my crown on and we went back to dance. More people staring because she is wearing my crown.
"You look adorable with my crown. Maybe I should have a crown made for you." I said looking down at her.
"I am not royal though." She said confused.
"Maybe I want you to be," I said and leaned down and kissed her properly for the first time.
