Sayuri's POV:

I stirred the straw in my glass around, watching the bubbles spin. How boring. I want to sleep. Why do I have to be here with 6 other detectives again?

Don't get me wrong, its not like I have anything against detectives. Not really. Well, they are kind of arrogant thinking their all cool when they smirk and point at the culprit saying 'Your the culprit!' And what kind of detective names their hawk Watson after Sherlock Holmes assistant? It's obvious that the other highschool detective is a Sherlock holmes freak.

I sighed. I only became a detective as one of my alias, being a detective has a lot of things that are useful. For example, who would expect a thief to be a detective? Second, being a detective gives me lots of chances to get mixed up with the BO and the other organization. Third, if I get my name known more....well, I don't know, but I'm sure fame would be handy for something.

A bonus is that I get to help people. Kaito KID's 'No one gets hurt' rule is something I truly follow, believe, and respect. Its one of the reasons I accepted Chikage's request. That and this is sort of a repayment to Toichii-sensei I guess. After all he was like a second father, and the one who taught me a lot about magic and fast hands.

I looked around the room we were all waiting in for our 'last supper'. I already know whats going on really. So does Kuroba-kun who happened to be disguised as Mouri and doing quite a fabulous job. Too bad he's probably going to be found out soon since he doesn't smoke, that is if the detectives here are decent. 

I never met the famous 'Sleeping Kogoro' but the way Kuroba-kun is acting, I'm guessing that he's quite an idiot; makes me wonder how he solved all those genius crimes.

The others are decent, but they are boring. Called cast-asides by me. Then there is the other highschool detective with the hawk, Hakuba Sagaruu. Looks like a arrogant one, but is quite polite; don't know if I would get along with him. I heard that he is one of the main people after Kaito KID, and from the info I gathered, seems like he's suspecting the right person.

That, and he's in Kuroba-kun's class. And what appears to be Kuroba-kun's love interest, Nakamori Aoko's dad is the main inspector of the KID's taskforce. Lady luck has really abandoned Kaito KID there.

Now for the one in the center of my attention at the moment. Conan Edogawa. Interesting kid. Even if I never talked to him. You could say that besides pretending to be a detective (and since I have to pretend to be a detective, I have to always think 'logically' how boring.) I like to trust my instincts. And yes, I do believe that magic exist. I've seen proof, and I can do a little bit with my voice, and how do you explain how my hair changes color? Scientist might say that its 'genes' or something like that, but I don't think so.

Besides, I also have a cousin who is also in Kuroba-kun's class, Koizumi Akako. She's a distant cousin, but we are on good terms, she is sometimes frustrated with me since she can't read me, plus none of her magic works on me, and 'Satan' doesn't like to talk about me apparently.

I don't know why either, and to be honest I don't want to know. And no, I'm not a magic witch freak like Akako. 

Anyway, something about Edogawa-kun is. . . . . bothering me. Mouri-chan has told me in our brief conversation that Conan-kun isn't her blood related brother, and that he is highly intelligent.

He seems to be talking childishly, but I've caught moments where he acts more . . . . mature. I glanced from my seat at the bar to where he was playing poker with Mouri-chan and the other lady detective. That face when he's thinking hard... that's not a face a 7 year old should have.
