Hey guys, before I write chapter 9, I wanted to say sorry for taking so long to write. I didn't really have writer's block, I was just extremely lazy to write the next chapter. I finally wrote it and I hope you guys enjoy it ;D
Arabella's POV
As I stand at the gates of the academy, I begin to worry. What if I can't be ask good as mom? Will I make friends? Can I really do this? All these questions run through my head over and over again. I take a deep breath and push on the doors.
I gasp at how beautiful it is. The garden is full of roses and beautiful organized flower gardens with benches surrounding them. The academy was very large and very beautiful. The large doors to the academy was beautifully carved and painted. I was actually worried of touching it in fear of getting it dirty.
I walk through the doors and am immediatly welcomed with a warm hug from a small women. She was no older than 50 years old and was about 4'10. She soon lets go of me and gives me a warm smile.
"You must be Arabella. Your father has told me so much of you and I must say, you are as beautiful as your mother."
A lump forms in my throat."Mom, you knew her?" My voice barely louder than a whisper. She nods slowly and I force myself to hold back the tears.
"Come now dear, it is time to show you your dorm." We talk the whole way to my room, mainly about my mother.
"She was a very beautiful girl, much like you. She enjoyed singing and playing for others. It made her happy to see the smiles on peoples faces as she played."
I could sense that this women cared very deeply for mother, and I had a feeling that she missed her too.
We stop at a door and she hands me a key. Before opening the room, she grabs my hand.
"I forgot to tell you dear, but every student must have a room mate. Are you okay with sharing a room?" I smile and nod. The idea of having a room mate wasn't so bad, given that I never had to share a room with anyone.
She gives me one last hug before turning on her heels to the other direction. I breath in slowly and turn the door handle.
As I slowly walk in, I am greeted by a cheerful girl with brown hair choclate brown eyes. She grins as she sees my luggage and squeals."No way! Your my new room mate right?"
I nod and she lets out another squeal."Great! I was hoping to get someone who wasn't stingy or boring and you totally don't look like that. Oh, where are my manners? Hi, I'm ashley, but you can call me Ash. Welcome to our room. Since I knew you were coming today, I have prepared a song in your honor."
She clears her throat and begins singing a song. I giggle at the silly lyrics and we are soon interrupted by someone.
"Hey Ash, I know you have a new room mate all, but there is a limit to how much I can take of your horrible voice." Ash frowns and I begin to laugh loudly.
"Hey, I'm Jenny. It's nice to meet you and I must say that I am sorry you're stuck with Ash."
"No it's fine. I think she's cool." Ash gives a cocky grin and Jenny just frowns at Ash's expression.
"So you're new here huh?" Jenny asks, sitting down on a small chair.
"Kind of hard to hide right? Yes I am, my name is Arabella." I shake hands with her and sit down on my bed.
"So... What makes you come to our little academy for the 'specially gifted'?"
I look up at her, unsure of what to say."I came here because my mother went here when she was young... I don't think you would have heard of her."
Jenny sits up and says,"What was her name?"
"Well, when she went here... Her name was Nicole Anderson."
Ashley jumps to her feet and rushes towards me.
"You're mom was THE Nicole Anderson? She's like a legend here."
I look up at her, amazed at what she said."Really, why was she a legend?"
Jenny and Ashley glance at eachother and then laugh."Because, she was like a prodigy. They said that she could learn anything."
"Really?"
Ashley nods."You must be amazing if you are her daughter." I stay silent and look at my feet. I wish I was as talented and beautiful as her. Ashley notices me staying quiet.
"What's wrong?" she asks, worried that she upset me. I give her a smile.
"It's nothing really." I say, in a high pitched voice.
Jenny frowns, noticing that I'm lying."Oh spill it! I can tell you are lying."
I take a deep breath."My mother was just so beautiful and talented, and I can never match up to her. I am short and have an ugly face. I don't deserve to be hear."
Ashley and Jenny glance at eachother."Hey Arabella, do you want to see something shocking?"
I glance up at them, confused at what they are saying."What?"
Ashley reaches for an old book with a lock on it and Jenny soon reaches for a key that was dangling on her neck. They open up the book and hand it to me. I flip through the pages and am shocked to see what was inside.
The book was filled with pictures of Ashley and Jenny. It didn't look like they were taken long ago, but they still looked really different.
"Yeah, ugly right?" Jenny chuckles, and her cheeks begin turning red.
"Why do you guys look so...." I couldn't find the words to describe it.
"Ugly?" Ashley says, with a little bit of sadness in her voice. I gulp, not knowing what to say.
"When we first came here, we looked like that. That photo you're looking at right now was taken about a year ago. When we first came here, we felt like crap. One day a teacher came to us and said 'It's time you girls get a makeover'. We didn't understand what she meant, but we knew that we wanted it badly." Jenny stops speaking for a moment, and Ashley begins speaking.
"If you feel like you're so ugly and that you want a makeover, we can have that teacher give you one too."
I look back to the picture and back at them. I honestly didn't know what to do. Will I be able to look for beautiful, like mom? I look up and realized that they were staring at me. I let out a deep sigh and say in a quiet voice,"Okay."
Jenny and Ashley both looked at me and soon attacked me with a hug. "We are going to be best friends!!!!" They said in unison.
I laughed at there sudden comment. Maybe coming here wasn't such a bad idea.

Okay, sorry about it taking me so long to post up this chapter... I was a little lazy :) This chapter was more of a filler on how Arabella settles in the academy. Next chapter will have more action I promise.... In my next chapters, I'll try to slow it down because I realized that my previous chapters were a little rushed and I'm sorry about that. I'll make sure to use more descriptions and such.. Also, check out my new book 'The Rogue'.. It's moving on kind of slow so please be patient. Thank you ;)
