Rafe

Hobbens has locked Regina and himself in her room for two days and hasn't come out once. I am beginning to worry that they somehow jumped ship, but since I have been camped outside of her door I know that isn't correct. I am so worried about Regina; Hobbens said that this is my fault, I do not know what he meant, but at least he did say that she will be fine now.

I have to go in the room, earlier today White came in and told me that the pirate lord of Clew Bay, O'Malley, wishes to see all the crew members. We will be heading to O'Malley's castle later in the day, but I am worried that Regina will not be able to make it and what will White will do to her if she cannot appear before O'Malley.

A sense of deja vu washed over me as I opened the door. My eyes widen in shock, all I can see is darkness. It seems to bounce the light off of it. My eyes cannot make out a single shape in the room.

"What do you want boy?" The sound of Hobbens's voice grated on my ears. It seemed to come from all directions.

"How is she?" My questions was met with an eerie laugh that make my skin break out in goose bumps.

"Come in and see for yourself...that is if you can."

It was quiet again, it is a silence that made you want to talk to yourself just to hear something, anything. I pushed my hand through the darkness and felt sick to my stomach. I have not felt a fear like this in a long time, since I was a child. It is a fear that made you want to run and hide in bed with your parents or under a mountain of blankets and tell yourself everything will be alright. I can't even see my hand and it is right in front of my face. How is this even possible?

Oh, yeah if there are magical creatures in the world there has to be magic.

"Are you scared boy?" Hobbens sneered at me.

He is beginning to piss me off. I take a deep breath and step into the dark enveloped room. My heart is pounding so hard that I can feel it, it feels like it wants to escape my chest.

There is clapping to my right, near where the bed is. "I am truly surprised, you can overcome the darkness. Most humans can't even stand to be near it, they would have run away long before now. This is a good thing considering that you are now branded."

"What does that have to do with anything?" My breath is coming in pants.

"I am not telling anything until my Lady wakes." His voice is different, something I didn't notice earlier.

The room is still so very black. "Can you do something about all this darkness?"

He is laughing at me again. "What you perceive as darkness is merely a concentration of magic." He sighed before he spoke again. "Fine I shall help you."

Something touched my shoulder, it is Hobbens's hand. "What are you going to do?"

"Give you the sight. I shouldn't even be doing this, but you will need it again."

I can feel something surging through my body, starting at the shoulder Hobbens is holding. At first the energy is soothing like a warm bath, but then it gains heat and starts feeling like boiling water being thrown on ice cold skin. It is starting to concentrate in my eyes. A yell is ripped from my chest, it feels as if hot pokers are being stabbed into my eyes repeatedly. I blink my eyes, trying to blink away the pain. I can feel tears rolling down my cheeks. I thought I was going to die before the pain subsided.

"Why the hell is everything sparkling?" I turn to Hobbens, and practically jump out of my skin. "Who the fuck are you?"

The man standing above me has short black hair that seems to absorb the light surrounding its. His eyes are black as coal and cold as ice. All the features of his face are sharp; sharp eyes, nose, cheek bones, jaw bones, and pointed ears.
