Sitting in my darkened study I awaited for any news to come, about my daughter. A man named James Horton easily slid into the room from the balcony door. The magic he surrounded himself with slithered around finding and absorbing the remaining light in the room. "I have news." His voice sounded from across the room, but there is no telling where he actually is in the room. With the magic Mr. Horton uses I never see him till he is ready to be seen.
"Well?" I ask, trying to stay as calm as I can. The chuckle I hear is closer than before.
"Your daughter is having fun with a crew of pirates, but you already knew about the pirates." His voice sounds from in front of me.
"What do you mean fun?" I pick up the crystal tumbler that I left on my desk, but it is empty. "If you will drop your magic I will pour us both a drink." It takes a moment, but the darkness engulfing the room lessons some.
"Ah, can you see now?" I nod my head, and reach for my decanter of bourbon. I pour two fingers worth in each glass on my desk and hand one over to Mr. Horton. "Now that we have our drinks, your daughter is flirting with a pirate and with danger. When I was able to see her she was dinning under the moonlight with a handsome pirate and the dangerous Capitan. There was another there, but they where hidden from my sight , which is quit impressive."
"I'm sure it is. Now tell me where they are going so I can retrieve my daughter. If she is back home before the start of the season I will double your pay." I watched Mr. Horton cover a smirk behind his hands.
"You are not going to like it, not one bit." Again with that smirk.
"This little act that you are putting on is beginning to wear thin. Now tell me or you will have to find employment some place else and we both know how difficult that is for one of your ilk." His smirk grew into a grin.
"Ah, but I barely get to have fun anymore." He took a deep breath. "Fine. Fine, I'll tell you." He paused for dramatic affect. "Clew Bay." Mr. Horton watched me with gleeful anticipation.
I stood up quickly, knocking my chair over and loomed over my desk. "What did you say? " Mr. Horton leaned back, away from me and my silent anger. "Go and retrieve my daughter before that bitch puts ideas about freedom into her head. Now!"
Mr. Horton jumped up from the chair, laughing he says "Your true colors are showing. Oh and you might want to get your ears checked by a doctor, they appear to be growing." With a last laugh he leaves the way he came, taking all the shadows with him. Leaving me to a bright room and a clear reflection of myself in the looking glass across the room.
Looking away quickly, I pull on one of the service bells to summon my personal butler. It takes him moments to answer my summons. He takes one look at me and rushes off to get the potion necessary to reverse the affects of my curse. He returns, hands me the potion and leaves.
Downing the potion is easy, it is the hours of pain that are a side affect of the curse that will prove difficult. It seems that the longer this curse is in affect the harder it is for me to change back. I settle down in my chair and wait for the pain to begin.

618 word count. Ugh that is so much less than what I am use to putting out, but I have to start back somewhere and this is just a filler chapter. Its just used to introduce Mr. Horton and to see a little bit of Regina's father. I'm not even going to look over it, I just need to post something. Sorry for the bad chapter.
