Chapter 8

Andy woke up with a start and she tried to sit up. There were restrains in his wrists and her ankles and she yelled out in frustration. She broke out of the bonds quickly and got up.

"Andy!" Clint yelled and ran into the room.

She turned to him and glared at him. "You bastard!" She yelled and limped over to him. "You shot me in the freaking leg with an arrow!" She yelled and punched him square in the nose.

He clutched his nose and groaned before she grabbed his shoulders to steady herself before kneeing him in the...sensitive area.

Clint groaned and fell to his knees and held that area with one hand and his nose with the other hand.

"Okay...I know I deserved that but holy shit Andy!" He said and she limped back to the bed and looked down at her bandaged leg.

"Why?" She asked and he looked up at her still clutching his nose and crotch area.

"Fury has his reasons that I don't know. He'll explain when he gets here. I was brought here to watch you and make sure you didn't do what you just did." He explained and with that Fury came marching in.

"Clint go see Dr. Banner and see if she broke your nose." He said and Clint nodded before walking slowly out of the room.

"You just injured one of my best agents." Fury said and she shrugged.

"I hit hard." She said and leaned back on the pillows. "So why did you do this to me?" She asked and he walked to the other side of the room and leaned against the window sill.

"Recognition. You're in our database now." He said making Andy's heartbeat quicken and her blood run cold.

"You know now that I'm in, those spies will take that as a sign as you guys are taking me hostage and will attack you." She said and Fury nodded.

"That's our plan." He said and she looked at him in shock.

"What do you mean that's your plan? People will die!" She yelled and shook her head.

"What makes you so against it now?" He asked and she took a deep breath to calm down.

"Because that's not who I am anymore." She said slowly but he wanted more information and pressed on.

"But Andrea, you were so good at what you did. I thought for sure you would want this to happen." Fury pressed and the anger that she had been holding inside unleashed.

"That is not who I am right now! That is not me! I am not the monster that I was because I do not like to kill! They made me like that and I am not that person anymore!" She yelled and caught her breath before continuing. "You think you know who I was or what I am but you don't know. You have no idea how I think or why I did what I did. You have no right to say that to me." She said and stood up.

She walked over to him, anger with every step. Fury smirked and looked at her, seeing this is what he wanted out of her. A reaction.

"You need to calm down I see your green eyes get greener when you're angry. Did I see Gamma in your DNA?" He asked and that was it for her.

She grabbed his jacket and pulled him forward and then slammed him into the closest wall. Her eyes almost glowing green. 

"You have no idea what they did to me so I have no reason to be aligned with them. They tortured me and they made me a monster." She said. The door opened again and Fury looked at the person in the room, Andy not bothering to look at anyone but the person who had insulted her. 

"Let him go Andy." Bucky's voice sounded throughout the room.

"We know how that feels and you had no right to do this to her Fury." Banner's voice said and Fury looked down at her. After a second she let go of him.

Fury nodded at everyone and walked out of the room. He had gotten what he wanted. 

Andy walked back to the bed and laid down. She put her head back against the pillows and the men looked at each other before walking over to her and sitting in either side of her bed.

"We kind of know what it's like. Not the Russia part for me but we know what it feels like to feel like a monster." Bruce said and she shook her head.

"It's terrible, how did you go through it? How are you still here I'm struggling to get through this and I've been like this for a very long time?" She asked and looked at her hands.

Bucky looked down a this metal hand and Banner took a deep breath.

"I don't know, I wanted to do it. I really actually wanted to. I put a bullet in my mouth but the other guy sit it back out." Banner said and she looked up at him a bit.

He nodded and Bucky sighed.

"Even if I wanted to Steve wouldn't let me. I realized if I gave in and did it, then I would be doing exactly what Hydra would want me to do. I'm not letting Hydra control my life anymore. Once Hydra is done, then I can relax." Bucky said and she smiled a bit.

"That's why I'm here, I came only to find Natasha and attack the red room until it falls." She said softly.

"Well you gave one hell of a fight to come here. You're a really good fighter and you should seriously think about joining us." Bucky said and she laughed a little.

"I don't fight for anyone but myself and the people who are left in the red room." She said and looked at them

"We'll help you don't worry. Fury won't push you like that again. He was trying to see what you would do, see what your abilities are. You're day and week is going to be full of tests." Bucky said and stood up.

"You should get rest Andy, you were shot in the leg. Oh and Barton says he's very sorry and he was just following orders." Banner said and she sighed.

"I've been at the mercy of men just following orders before. (X-Men reference! Anyone?) Nobody should ever be at mercy of men following orders." She said and they sighed.

"We'll come back with Clint when you wake up." Bucky said and walked out.

"You're going to be fine, Fury just needed your information for the data base and Clint only got yo in the leg." Banner said and nodded at the machines. "Get some sleep Andy." He said and walked out the room.

She sighed and closed her eyes as she slowly fell into a fitful sleep full of memories and new fears including her new friends.
