Chapter 14

Clint and Andy strolled to the front door, arm in arm.

Andy's hair shimmering in the low light and both of their laughs echoing through the cold night.

They walk up to the door smiling and laughing at a joke Clint just made.

"Invitations please." The guard said and Andy opened her clutch and gave it to him. "That's also my husbands. He looses things easily so we made sure the host was okay with us bringing one invitation." She explained and tossed a piece of stray hair over her shoulder.

"Of course Mrs. Jacks." The guard said and smirked. He handed the invitation back to her and nodded at them to go in.

She nodded and smiled. Clint began walking in and Andy followed closely.

The guard watched the, walk in and leaned over to watch Andy walk.

"Eyes to yourself. This ones mine." Clint called back to him and pulled Andy along with him.

The guard cleared his throat and looked back in front of him.

Andy laughed softly. "I knew he would do that. Remind me to punch him on the way out." She said and Clint laughed as they walked into the ballroom.

"Of course honey." He said and kissed her cheek.

A faint blush crept onto her cheeks. "Champagne sweetheart?" She asked and looked at the bar.

"Yes please, I'll be right here when you come back." He said and winked at her before she walked away.

Andy giggled softly and walked to the bar. She ordered two glasses of champagne and looked around for her target.

She needed to find her fast and then get out because Hydra could find out they were there. She picked up the glasses and walked back to Clint.

"Didn't see her, but here is your champagne." She said and handed him a glass.

"Why thank you babe." He said and she smiled.

"Well, we need to go mingle now." He said and wrapped an arm around her waist. She smiled and nodded, playing it cool but on the inside she was having to remind herself that this was only part of the cover.

Clint and Andy mingled a little, still not finding Alex. Andy sighed in defeat as the couple they were talking to walked away to dance.

"I think you need a dance honey. You're getting to stressed." Clint said and kissed her head.

He took her hand and led her to the dance floor. He put one hand on her waist and took his other hand in hers. She put her other hand in his shoulder smiled.

"Perfect." She said softly to her herself as he began to lead her across the dance floor.

Andy smiled and laughed as they danced, truly enjoying herself.

"I see her. Balcony, looking around and now she spotted who she wanted to see. We need to move Andy." Clint whispered and Andy straightened, getting back into the frame of mind to take her down.

"Let's go." Andy said and kissed his cheek.

Clint smirked and grabbed her hand and led her to the front hall again. He saw guards walking down the hallway and looked at her.

Andy's eyes showed that she had no plan of action, she was drawing a blank. Clint looked between Andy and the guards. He took a deep breath and pushed Andy to a wall and kissed her. He had one hand on her waist and another cupping her cheek.

They continued to kiss as the guards passed, smirking at them. Soon after they passed the two separated. Clint went right up the stairs and Andy stayed where she was for a second, feeling rooted to the spot.

She touched her lips for a second and then snapped back to reality. She raced up the steps as best she could in heels and caught up to Clint.

"Okay she's on this side of the balcony so I'm going to walk first and I know there are rooms on this floor. We're going to use one of those rooms to interrogate her okay?" Clint asked, still a little flustered about the kiss.

Andy nodded a little bit as Clint took her hand and began to walk towards her.

"I told you honey, no one will know." Clint said to Andy as they walked towards Alex.

Alex looked in their direction and then Andy stepped from behind Clint.

Alex's eyes widened and started to run but Andy caught her and pulled her into a room, faster than Clint could blink.

"Where is he?" Andy asked as she threw Alex to the ground.

"I have no idea who you're talking about." Alex said smirking.

"Bruce! You made it personal! How did you know that Bruce and I were friends? How did you break into S.H.I.E.L.D?" Andy asked, bombarding Alex with questions and Clint stepped in the room and locked the door.

"You think we lost you? You think you escaped? You never did. We've had a trace on you since day one." Alex said and Andy began to panic.

"That's not possible!" Andy said and Alex laughed.

"So what about the tracker in your blood?" She asked and Andy looked at Clint and he shook his head, not knowing what was going on. "You never left. We never left you anyway, we always knew where you were. From that beat up old music store, to the street fights, and then finally to S.H.I.E.L.D where you led us right to the person who could help us destroy you. Bruce and your little man-toy over there. Hey there Clint." Alex said and with every word she stepped closer and closer to Andy.

"That's in possible. How would a tracker be in my blood?" Andy asked, not backing down from Alex.

"It was dissolved into your blood when they made you the golden girl of the red room." Alex said and looked between the two of them.

"I was not the golden girl of the red room." Andy said and Alex rolled her eyes.

"Bullshit! You were their favorite! Their golden girl! The one they always sent out on missions!" Alex yelled and Andy rolled her eyes.

"Sure, you want to become a monster like I did? To kill as many people as I did?" Andy asked, getting angrier and angrier. Alex just laughed in her face.

"Ha! I've already become you! I'm the golden girl now." Alex said and smirked.

"One more thing, hail Hydra." Alex whispered.
