"Natalie." Katherine sings in a sing song voice.
I lift my head up to look at her. Her dark hair pulled into a ponytail and she wore a long white shirt with black jeans. Earrings dangled from her ears.
"Isn't it Saturday?" I asked looking down at the drawings.
"Yeah but your father wants us to go out to breakfast." She smiles.
"I'll get ready." I say standing up and walking to my closet.
"Okay honey see you downstairs." She walks out closing the door behind her.
I quickly got dressed and jog down the stairs. I froze when I saw Katherine and my dad making out. After a minute they didn't notice me so I giggle which made Katherine snap her head at me.
"Natalie..Uh I-uh we." She stuttered.
I giggled again. "Let's go you two love birds."
Katherine and dad looked at each other then laughed.
I sat eating my eggs and pancakes silently while Katherine and my dad talked about random crap. I glanced at my phone and almost chocked on my food.
Oh so you're dating the nerd now huh! -Emma
I deleted her number and looked up at my dad and Katherine. They were staring at me.
"Something wrong?" Katherine asked.
"Emma just texted." I replied.
I told Katherine about Emma and Jacob because I felt like I could trust her. I went back to eating.
Date tonight wont take no for an answer pick you up at four -Jacob
I giggled at Jacobs text. He's taking me on a date! What will I wear? What about my makeup what will that be like? I looked up at my wall with the millions of tiger pictures I drew. After a minute I got up and went downstairs.
Katherine was watching TV when I came in.
"Where's dad?" I asked.
"He had an emergency at work." She explained.
"Me and Jacob are going on a date tonight so I wont be at dinner." I said.
She nodded. "Have fun! And tell me how it goes!"
I laughed. "I will."
At three fifty his car pulled up. My heart thudded in my chest as I looked in the mirror one last time. I wore my glasses because Jacob likes them better than my contacts. I jogged through the snow and got in his car.
"Hey beautiful." He greeted with a smirk.
"Sup handsome." I said.
He laughed. "At least i'm handsome."
"So what restaurant are we going to?" I asked.
"Oh we're not going to a restaurant." He smirked.
"Then where?" I asked.
"Ice skating." He said.
I pumped a fist in the air. "Yes!"
He chuckled as he pulled up to it. I jumped out and ran through the cold inside.
We sat on the bench putting on our skates.
"So you like to skate?" He asked picking up his other skate and sliding it on.
I shivered because it's cold. "Yeah me and mom used to go all the time." I said.
Jacob slid his beanie off and put it on me.
I giggled. "Thanks."
We started to skate and when I almost fell Jacob grabbed me by the waist and got me back in the skating rhythm. We skated to the music blasting through the speakers. After an hour we both skated back to the bench.
"That was amazing!" I exclaimed.
"Yeah let's go so I can get you something to eat." He grabbed my hand as we left.
I laughed when he pulled up to the fast food restaurant.
"When I first saw the tiger drawing." He said unbuckling his seat belt.
"Hey I've got a lot more of those if you want to see." I said.
"Yeah maybe sometime." He said opening the door for me.
He said to pick a seat so I picked the same window seat we had when we first came here. He chuckled as he sat down with our sodas.
"Thanks for this date." I said taking a sip of my soda.
"Well since we are dating we need to go out on dates." He said.
I then remembered the text from Emma. She's just jealous because my boyfriend's hotter than hers. Then it hit me. I almost chocked on my soda.
"Something wrong?" He asked.
"Emma's trying to steal you."
"What?" He said.
"Emma is jealous that i'm dating you and she'll steal you from me." I started to freak out.
"Nat. Nat." He said holding my hands. "I don't like her I like you OK?"
I nodded taking a deep breath. He let go when our order was being called.
Jacob tapped the steering wheel to the music as we drove home.
"So want to see the tiger drawings in my room?" I asked when he pulled up.
"Is your dad home?" He asked.
My dads car was parked in the driveway. "Yeah?" I said.
"Not tonight maybe a different time?" He said.
I laughed. "You're scared of my dad."
"Goodnight Nat." He chuckled.
"Goodnight Jacob." I said giving him a peck on the lips.
When I got inside Katherine jumped in excitement. "How'd it go!?" She asked running over and hugging me.
"He took me ice skating!" I exclaimed.
"Oh my gosh how romantic!"
My dad came out. "So I see your date went good." He smiled.
I nodded. "It was amazing!"
I went through the events while staring at the ceiling in my bed room. I really like this guy. He's different from all the jerk ex's I have. My phone lit up lighting the tiny dark room up.
How stupid! He took you ice skating -Emma
I laughed because she probably saw our selfie I posted on Instagram. It was annoying she kept texting me but it gave me a good laugh. I never answered her though she's a waste of time. I got up and turned the light on. The rest of the night I sketched the two tigers.
