It's Christmas eve and Jacob hasn't called, texted, or came over. I want to go over to his house but his mother and Tessa...They both saved my life. Katelin peeks through the door.
"Still nothing?" She says walking in and flopping on my bed.
"He's been ignoring me for a week am I just that horrible of a girlfriend!?"
"No no..if he is ignoring you he's a bad boyfriend..." she said grabbing my hands and looking me im the eyes.
"Well my brother has an excuse." Said Tessa walking in.
"How do you know where I live?" I asked.
"Jacob told me." She smirked.
"Where is he?" I asked standing up.
"He's scared.." She sighed. "He's scared to face the girl he didn't help when she crashed into another car.."
Tears filled my eyes. "I need to see him! It's fricking Christmas!" I yelled.
"Fine but he hasn't left his room in days. He only comes out for food."
I looked at Katelin. "Stay here i'll be back soon."
She nodded and I stood up. "Take me to him." I said.
Jacobs P.OV
I miss Nat. I miss her more than anything! But I can't face her not when she knows my mom and sister saved her when I stood there. How could I just stand there and do nothing!? My younger sister helped more than I did!? Ugh! I'm so mad at myself. The door swung open and Tessa stepped in. She gestured for someone to come in. When they do Tessa leaves quickly. Her blue eyes twinkle under her huge black glasses and her clothes she had a big purple sweater on with jeans.
"Nat please you can't see me like this." I said getting up.
"No Jacob! You ignored me all week now face me you coward!" She sobbed.
I sat there in shock. Nat was really upset and it killed me to see her like this. It hurt me even more to see that I did it I hurt her.
"Nat I- I feel like an idiot for not helping you I."
"Is this what it's all about? You not helping me when me and my moms car crashed? Who do you think got me to go in that ambulance when I didn't want to? You! Who told me that I could leave my mean friend? You! And who did the best thing of all? Huh? Who fell in love with me? You and I did the same now stand up and face me!"
Her speech got me thinking. I did help her... I got her through a lot. I got up.
"I love you Natalie.."
"I love you too Jacob but.."
I sat back down. "I screwed up didn't I ugh i'm such an idiot!"
"Jacob wait!" She yelled as I puch my wall.
My fist bounced off but I didn't feel the pain because the pain I was feeling was regret. Regreting I even got in her life. I'm a walking reminder of her mothers death! I don't know when she sat down but she grabbed both of my hands.
"You may think that you didn't save me from the car crash but you did save me from my fake self and free my nerdy one."
I cupped my hand on my cheek. "I'm sorry Nat but please..."
A tear slipped out. "No this can't be it..This can't be!"
"I'm sorry Nat i'm going to leave town to live with my dad I can't stay here and remind you of your mothers death." I stood up and grabbed my bag.
Tears poured down her face. "So this is it? The last time i'll ever see you?"
I walked over to her. "You know I love you but I kick myself everyday because I didn't help. My little sister did! She got you out of the car and comforted you."
She digged something out of her pocket. "Here." She said handing me a paper. "The last tigers I'll ever draw."
She gave me a kiss on my cheek and walked away. I opened the paper and saw the two tigers kissing. Above them she drew a heart. My eyes filled up with tears. I love her....I have to let her go.. My dads car honked outside. I grabbed my bag and left the love of my life behind.
Natalies P.O.V
I came home sobbing. I dropped to my knees and covered my face.
"Sis what's wrong?" Toby ran to me.
"Where's everybody?" I sniffed.
"They went out to lunch but I stayed home."
"And Katelin?" I asked.
"She went home." He said. "Now what happend?"
"Jacob broke up with me.." I sobbed.
"I'm going to kill him!" He stood up.
I quickly shot up and grabbed his hands.
"He had to let me go.." I whispered.
He shook his head. "No you love him!"
I nodded. "And he loves me.. He hates himself for not helping me at the car accident...he's going to live with his dad."
"What!?!" Katelin shreaked making me pull the phone away from my ear. "That's it i'm coming over and we're having a Christmas sleepover."
"Sounds fun." I said.
"Be there in fifteen."
I hung up and turned to my family. Cutie pie lay in my lap.
"I'm so sorry Natalie..." Katherine said.
"No guys it's fine..i'm not going to spend Christmas sad." I said petting the dog.
"Well since it's Christmas eve we got to get our onzies on." Toby said throwing us each a box. "Girls get pink snowflake boys get blue snowflake."
I pulled out my onzie and giggled. "Me and Annie are going to be twins!" I exclaimed.
He threw me another box. "For Katelin." He said.
As if right on cue Katelin came in. I threw her the box.
"A onzie?" She asks.
"Well you are apart of the family aren't you?" Katherine said.
Me, Annie, and Katelin giggled as ee ran upstairs to put our onzies on.
I sat on the porch in my onzie. Annie came out with two mugs. "Hot chocolate." She said handing to me.
"Thanks." I said taking it from her.
"I remember my first love." She said sitting down.
"Really?"
She nodded. "He had blonde hair and brown eyes." She giggled. "Until he broke up with me at prom."
"Wow that's the worst place to breakup."
She nodded. "Listen Nat you'll move on..you will always have him in your heart but guess what? A new guy will walk in and sweep you off your feet!"
I laughed. "Thanks Annie." I said looking out into the night sky.
"Now come on it's Christmas!"
