We were on the plane to Hawaii, and I was excited. Colson was asleep next to me, but I couldn't fall asleep no matter how hard I tried. We still had an hour left until we got there and I was getting bored. I put my headphones in and rested my head on his shoulder.
I guess I had fallen asleep, because when I woke up the plane had landed and everyone was getting their bags and leaving. I shook Colson to wake him up.
"Hey, we're here." his eyes fluttered open and I laughed. "Have a nice 9 hour nap?" he nodded and stood up. We grabbed our bags and I grabbed his as we walked off the plane.
"So, where are we going?" I asked when we got in the car.
"It's a secret," he smirked, "let's just say no one will be able to find us for a couple days." I didn't say anything else, I just sat and wondered about where he was taking us. We drove for about half an hour until we pulled up to a dock that was kind of hidden. I didn't understand why we were here.
"Go get on the boat. I'll get our bags." He said, sounding excited. I didn't argue and went to sit on the boat. After he got all the bags on the boat, he started it. It scared me a little, and he laughed because I almost fell from where I was sitting.
"Shut up. That wasn't funny." I said, pretending to be mad at him.
"Skylar I'm sorry!" he said like a little kid, chasing me around the boat.
"Colson! Come on! Can we just please go to wherever you're taking us?"
"You forgive me?"
"Yes, Colson. I forgive you. Let's go." he laughed as he walked away. I ended up feeling sick halfway there, and had to lay down. I couldn't really move from where I was because I was afraid of throwing up, so I laid down where I sat when I first got on the boat. I felt the boat stop shortly after, and I was being picked up by someone.
"Chill, Sky. It's me." Colson laughed.
"Well put me down. I can walk." he shook his head and put me down. Once I got myself together, I looked at where he had taken me. My jaw dropped. It was beautiful. The side of the house facing the ocean was all glass, and the inside of the house looked even more amazing.
"If you think that's nice, turn around and look at our view." I looked down and saw him sitting on the beach, shirt already off. I sat down next to him and looked out towards the ocean. It was even better than the house.
"Colson...this is amazing. You're amazing. Thanks for this. I needed a vacation."
"Both of us did. And this was the best thing I could think of." he smiled down at me. When we first met, I didn't like how much taller he was than me. But over this past year of being with him, I had grown to like his height. I then realized one of the reasons he brought me here.
"We've really been together for a whole year...?"
"Yeah...I couldn't believe it. But I'm glad I decided to go to that talent show. Even when we're fighting or we're mad at each other, anything, I wouldn't go back to how it was before I met you." I hugged him, not knowing what to say. "Well, let's get our bags inside and relax.." I knew what he meant by 'relax' by the smirk that followed. I hopped up, running to the boat. He followed and we were on our way up to the house. Once we threw our bags down, he picked me up and walked to the bedroom.
I woke up the next morning by myself. I smelled bacon and french toast, my favorite. I got up and walked out to the kitchen. I guess he heard me coming because he met me in the hallway.
"Good morning." he kissed me.
"Morning. Thanks for making breakfast."
"I was up early and couldn't fall back asleep so I decided I'd make your favorite." he smiled. I loved seeing him this happy. We sat down to eat breakfast. It was quiet for pretty much the whole time we ate. He got up to do the dishes, and I tried offering to do them but he refused.
