We ran along the dusty road as if hoping to find someone else we knew. I needed go find everyone though there was no way to get around the world now besides walking.

Rocks were cutting into my soles because my shoes were worn through. I tried to ignore it, and keep my eyes baring ahead.

Eric turned to me as we ran. "So where are we going exactly?" he inquired. "I don't really know." I answered. "Everywhere. " A laugh escaped my lips and it was probably a good thing. It kept me going. I was always told to smile or laugh even when times were hard. Sometimes it was hard and I'd give up. Then I realized how much better it made me feel.

Eric laughed back. That was the first time I'd seen him laugh. See my laughing is contagious!

I slowed down to a walk, and soon Eric did too.

"There isn't any point in running. We won't find anyone like that. " I said staring around me. Then I noticed I was standing in a puddle of blood. Normally I would have cringed and probably thrown up right then and there but for some reason I over looked it and just scanned the road.

Many people were laying around, but none were anyone familiar. Like there would be anyway. I continued walking. "This is going to take a while. " I mumbled so quiet I wasn't even sure if I even said it or not.

Now wasn't the time for reunions. I needed to get going. Of course I was going to stay with Mr. Han- well my Father, because even I knew I couldn't do this alone. At least I wasn't scared anymore. Well, mostly that is.

"We need to get going if we are going to find Peter and everyone," I said, "Not like saving time will help much in the long run. This could take months. God knows how far away everyone is, and they might be all going around looking for others too. That will only make it worse-"

"It's okay. We will find everyone in the time we need to. It's not like were in a hurry." Father said to comfort me. He knew I was scared even if I would never admit it.

I sighed. "I'm kind of in a hurry. "

"Well you don't need to be. "

"I know. "

Father smiled and we began our journey. I had no idea what was in store for me.
