(That's supposed to be Eric above.... )

Peter's P. O. V
*******************The days were not short.... They lasted longer than a normal day, but that was mostly because of our constant traveling. We hoped to find someone we knew, though it would be nice to find anyone. Then one day we did..
I stood at the edge of a creek, my toes handing over the water. Balancing was always something I was good at. Eric was looking around at the landscape. A while after the collision of the two worlds, they land began to repair itself. Mountains had been forming slowly, as well as forests. I was glad, though I wished none of this had even happened in the first place... The reason it happened was still a mystery.
We had been traveling for nearly 3 months and I was tired though not near ready to give up. I would not allow myself to get to that point.
I walked along the bank hoping to find some fish. Finally they were starting to come back too although being so early, there were very few. I couldn't find any, and to be honest I had been searching for an hour. Eric wanted to hurry and get going but I was not ready. Suddenly a bush moved, catching our attention. I looked up quickly and watched as a young girl emerged from the trees. She may have been about 14, and too be honest I was half relieved and half disapointed. I guy would have been better.
She stared at us, as if she had never seen to boys in her short life of 14 years. We stared back, wondering what to say.
"Hi. " She finally said with a half smile. It's not like it's easy to smile after such a recent destruction, much less if u were standing in front of two strange boys.
"Hi. " I replied. "Are you all alone here? " She nodded. Her face was scratched and dirty and she was pale and thin from starvation. She cluched onto her tattered skirt and stepped forwards.
I sighed. "I'm not going to hurt you, you don't have to be scared of me." She blushed. "I- I'm not afraid of you, stupid. " I raised an eyebrow.
"Where are you headed? " She asked quietly.
I smirked. "Not really anywhere in particular. I'm searching for my sister. God knows where she is. "
The girl gasped. "That's sad that you were separated. I lost my whole family. I'm not even sure what happened back then. "
"It's a long story. " I sighed, though I decided it was best I tell her. It's no like anyone can go through life having no idea what is happening. She of course was shocked and she turned white-well I guess you couldn't tell with her being so pale all ready.
"I'm trying to find my family." She sighed, and stared across the land with a far away expression in her eyes. "I promised myself that I would survive, at least until I find them. "
Eric, being the type of person he was, smiled and put an arm around her. "I'll help you. " He smiled. She smiled back and that's when I questioned my entire trip with this guy.
"It'll be safer anyway if we go together. " He continued.
"What? " I asked, shocked so bad I nearly jumped out of my pants. "No way!"
"Your being mean. " Eric glared at me. "
"Were just trying to find everyone! We don't need little kid in our way, making us have to look for more people. " I said decisively.
"Since when did you become so selfish, Peter, this little girl needs our help. "
"I'm not a little girl and I don't NEED your help. " The girl interrupted. "You guys don't have to act like I asked you to let me join you. "
Eric looked surprised. "Well I want you to come with us, so you don't die. "
I rolled my eyes. Somehow Eric always managed to say the wrong things.
"Well okay." She answered finally, and then smiled and held out her hand. "I'm Katelyn. " Eric shook her hand of course, and grinned. "I'm Eric. It's a pleasure to meet you. " I think he's way to much of a lady's man for his own good. I sighed and then held out my hand. "I'm Peter. You better not get in our way."
She laughed. "If I do, are you going to just abandon me?"
"No! We wouldn't think of doing such a thing! " Eric piped up, and I do wish he hadn't. "Yea, we won't. " I agreed though at the time, I wasn't sure if I meant it or not. Personally young girls were annoying to me.
"Well we're going to stay here for the night and be aware we wake up early to continue the journey so you better not try to sleep in. " I said coldly, though now that I'm telling this I don't really know why I had gotten so crabby all of a sudden. She just smiled shyly. "Don't worry, I'm an early bird. "
"Good. " I thought and walked off to find something to eat.
I'm going to stop this chapter here, and I know it's a strange place, but there will be more soon. :) Hope you are enjoying this book! :)
