Chapter 0: Begining

It was a wet summer evening. The rain pours down as it drowns my cries for help. In front of me were my parents lying on road with a pool of blood. My mum reached her hand towards me and mumbled something and fell dead

I jumped out of my futon gasping for air. I am Kikuchi Ao, born from a family of doctors. I was deemed a failure as my father gave up his career to marry my mum.

As i walk towards my kichen to wash my face, i can't help but to look around my small apartment.

During my parents funeral, no one came except the neighbours. Not even a relative. I was 14 then, from then on i was forced to grow up and i knew i could depend on no one but myself.

I finnished high school but the fees are too high to go into university so i stopped even though my grades allowed me to.

I now work part time at a convinence store to get by my daily life.

*bing bong!*

Ao:
"Irashai!(welcome)"

I won't say that its tough working there, i would just say it was a waste of time.

Schoolgirl:
"Its him again.. sigh where is that handsome shop owner?"

I turned away and cleaned up the counter while they shopped. This was my daily life. Work, eat, sleep and work again, i mean i was living a stable life but i was emotionless. Who doesnt want to be loved. Inside all i knew is that my life slipped down the drain when my parents passed on.

As i walked the streets of Hiroshima.
I can't help but to shed tears to the memories of my so called happy childhood. I was reminded of the image of my parents dead. I was prepared as i treated myself with steak and headed up roof of a nearby building trying to end my life from there. I walked towards the ledge, made sure there was no way of survival and i jumped as i landed on the floor it felt like a stake pierced through every single tissue of mine. Even before i could scream, i died

Unknown voice:
"Isnt the world a cruel place? If given the chance, would you like to start over."

I replied with a cold

"No."

Unknown voice:
"Thats the spirit! Wait what? No? You will feel the pain you felt a second ago for the rest of your life, do you want that? Let me rephrase, i am giving you second chance.. lets make a pact."

I indeed dont want to feel the pain everyday. So i asked him what do i have to do.

Unknown voice:
"Very easy, our pact is.. once you're reborned i will be too. You will be amazed with your new life but you have 3months to find me. If you fail, your soul is mine to play with but if you find me you could keep your life, how about that maybe i will let you meet your parents for the last time, how about that its not a bad deal. Once you accept there is no turning back"

I didnt want to live but seeing my parents finish what they want to say was going to give me a peace of mind i accepted.

With that my vision blacked out and he last i heard was a snicker.

Little did i know, how my life was going to turn and how i just made a deal with the devil•
