Chapter 13: bittersweet memories

Yui's pov

Rie:
"If i were to compliment you, it would be your smile, without fail you have that calming effect."

Yui:
"Wha-"

My heart skipped a little as what she said was something i hold so so dear and i can't believe i was hearing this again.

♡♡♡♡♡-past blurry images-♡♡♡♡♡

-at the same time-
Yui:
"I want to go on the swings!"

Moa:
"I want to head to the sand box!"

Moa:
"Oh how about i will find you in abit i will just go there and take a look."

Yui:
"Okay. Be quick."

I headed towards the swing but there was alot of people there. I mean i only have a short time span that im allowed to play so i should enjoy it.

Yui:
"Hey, can i take a ride please?"

Boy:
"Oh sure, how about i push you."

Yui:
"Okay. Thank you."

I sat up the swings and he started pushing lightly at first but his friends gathered and did a big push, i couldn't hold on and fell right on the ground.
I looked at them, they were all laughing. I started crying as well.

Boy:
"Haha look at her! Trying to take my swing from me."

Girl:
"Don't you know better who is the king of this turf? Wait.. eww she has crooked teeth."

Boy 2:
"Yeah i bet when she laugh or smile, she'd be ugly. Look at those makeup eww."

All of their words shook me up like it was a typhoon that hit me. When suddenly a shadow walked pass me and something landed on the face of the bully.

Boy:
"Who the hell are you!? Do you know who i am?!"

Ao:
"I am Kikuchi Ao and i don't like it that you guys are bullying her."

The fight between them started and i started wailing even more loudly until Moa came to my aid. The fight ended as quickly as it started with the bullies running shouting i will tell my dad on you. While Ao walked back towards me with a few scratches on his face.

Ao:
"Don't listen to them. I think your smile is special, without fail it calms me."

When mum and Moa's mother arrive i knew we had to go. I couldn't help but look at the scratches he got. Once he look back to me and smile, all i could do is smile back.

Moa:
"Kikuchi Ao, really is something, like a prince i like him."

With that i knew i couldn't steal him from her, everyone loves Moa. I am just second place.

♡♡♡♡♡-back to the present-♡♡♡♡♡

Rie:
"Yui.. Yui?"

Yui:
"Ah.. ah! You win. Now for my secret, the never fattening meals!"

After that the party continued..but now, i could not help myself i am pretty darn sure i've fallen for Rie.
Its been a few days yet she keeps popping up in my head as i walked along Kanagawa the streets near my home.

Rie:
"Yui!"

Ah i must be thinking about her too much till i can hear her voice.

Rie:
"Yui watch out!"

I opened my eyes and i saw a huge puddle in front of me, i knew i was gonna fall into it when a sudden gush of force pushed me to safety.

*splash!*

Yui:
"Ouchies.. eh? Rie?"

Rie:
"Ne.. how can you be such a clumsy head?"

Yui:
"Why are you here wait... You're soaking wet!"

Rie:
"Thanks to you. Man.. how am i suppose to go for my shoot now."

*bzzzb*

She took out her phone and then start to pout which was the cutest i have ever seen. I mean how does Moa hold it within her not to hug this girl. Suddenly she had this real irritated look on her face i had never seen before.

Rie:
"Yui chan.. you.. you're going to make this up aren't you."

Yui:
"Ah.. okay."

Never did i thought she'll be coming over to my place that instant. I mean i was about to do some errands but i made myself believe that that could wait. As we entered the house i ran up to grab some clothes for Rie.

Rie:
"Ah thank you."

Yui:
"I will run a bathe you can jump in and freshen up."

I keep telling myself this couldn't be, i can't really be in love with a girl, i mean its ok but.. a guy should be more in the right zone, but but arghh i will go take a bathe! Without thinking i charge in the bathe while Rie was still inside. I saw everything.

Yui:
"Ah... ha ha... opps."
