Chapter 6: Lies one would tell

Author's note: how are you guys? I've been down the weather recently but i do hope i can keep my emotions out of the chapter. Enjoy.

Ao's pov

The pain subsides from my ribcage. It feels like i was at the end of the tunnel. Flashback of my time in this body slowly replays.

I had something to do, i can't die just yet. I did whatever i could to wake up but it feels like something is pinning me down. I looked up, there was a body. As i squinted my eyes it looks like me.. just older. From my surroundings i could hear clocks ticking.

'Tick tock.'

With that a voice plays

'You aint got much time left.. tick tock.. before your body slips away and your memories fades.'

With that i was let free, i woke up in cold sweat. I looked around the room. Everything seems blur. I couldn't get my mind straight that i started moving my arms.

Moa:
"Mhmmm."

I looked down and found Moa holding on to my hands with tears in her eyes. I slipped out of her hands and sneaked towards the mirror. I lidted my shirt and found its still in wraps so i didnt want to unwrap to see.

I looked into the mirror and try to recall back to the time when i was a child and i couldnt. All i could remember was the sunset, the playground and then blank. Just plain blank. When i look back up in the mirror i was tearing. I didnt think much of it but.. i knew my time is fading away and i am blending into this body.

I was afraid. I let out a whimper and suddenly felt an embrace so soft.

Ao:
"M-Moa?"

She didnt reply but this silence calms me down. I closed my eyes to prevent her from letting her know i was crying.

She started to hum a soft tune. It was the tune that took my defence, a tunr that broke my hard rock defence. I starting sobbing very hard.

♢♢♢♢♢♢♢♢♢the next day♢♢♢♢♢♢♢♢♢♢♢

I prepared for school and went downstairs. I looked around for something amiss but mother and father seemed their usual self. Moa on the other end seemed very quiet and didn't have that much of her breakfast before she stood up and leave.

I knew i had to explain for yesterday so, i ran after her.

Ao:
"Moa!"

She stopped in her tracks and looked straight into my eyes.

Ao:
"Uhmmm.. about yesterday. Did you help me wrap my bandages? Thank you."

Moa:
"What are you talking about? What bandages?"

I was puzzled i looked down and touched my sides, i didnt notice it in the morning as i was in a hurry but there were no bandages, No pain either.

Moa:
"Are you dreaming again? Silly Ao. Lets go we're gonna be late."

I mumbled to myself, A dream? No wonder nothing was amiss. I laughed it off and chased after Moa.

Moa's pov

I didnt know whether it was right or wrong. All i knew is that she was keeping something from me and if i pry it from her, she would disapear.

As i ran, i couldnt smile. I wanted to know, but if she wants to keep her secret.. i will protect it.

As we reached the school gate, the disciplinary students are already closing the gates

Moa:
"Ah.. geez. Looks like i am calling mother. Ao it is because you are too slow! Looks like its time to ditch school. I am telling mother its you."

I was just finding someone to blame. She was ahead of me the whole time and waiting for me at every traffic light.

I recieved a text from Yui saying she is coming over later to practise our routine dance moves.

Moa:
"Ao, we have to buy some snacks. Yui is coming over later."

As we head to the shop, the air was awkward as hell, suddenly she started to whistle the melody i hummed to her yesterday.

Ao:
"You know this song Moa?"

Moa:
"How did you know that? Its ganbare from sakura gakuin the ex idol group i was in."

Ao:
"Really? I heard you hum it in my dream last night haha!"

Moa:
"Oh my gosh i was in your dream? I am soo touched."

We had a good laugh but in my head it was all still clear. The stab wound that closed wasnt normal. I have to find out someway because she seemed so so sad while humming the tune to that happy melody.
