So here's some background info. on The Kingdom. The nine realms seem to be at utter peace with each other, and Diamond rules them all. The citizens of Diamond are called Royals, and they live in palaces and go to the Royal Court at teatime. The realm I live- or should I say lived- in is Carbon. Carbon is a secret realm, that works with Diamond to make their precious diamonds. In a sense, The Kingdom is a wonderful place to live in.

So, back to the story. So I was supposed to find all 9 gemstones and put them in the Carbon temple? Oh, sure. Piece of cake. Seriously? I was worried. Oh, no, I was way beyond worried. I walked out the Court, thinking about this so called 'mission' of mine.

"Hey! You there! Come back!" yelled a voice behind me. I whipped around, seeing a teenage ghost around the same age as me. She had blonde hair with blue highlights, and freckles sprayed across her face. Her eyes were a dark periwinkle, and they matched her shirt, that said 'I'm a Cool Cat!'

"Are you talking to me?" I mumbled. See, I never had many people skills when I was still living, much less when I was dead.

"Yes, you!" she yelled. "Hurry up!"

I shuffled over to her. "So, name's Hathaway. Call me H, if you'd like."

"Oh, Grace. Please call me Grace." I said. She threw her head back and laughed. I just stood there, wondering why she was laughing.

" You're so serious! Well, we got to change that! Come with me, all us ghosts know about this mission of yours, and we're happy to help."

"You know? Well, do you have any clues?" I asked, suddenly interested.

"Yeah, I know this person who can see ghosts, and he's awesome. He totally understands me, you know?"

"Okay, then. Where does he live?" I asked.

"Oh, just around the corner! Come on!" Hathaway started sprinting down the street. I followed soon after, panting the whole way. We arrived at a magenta house, where Hathaway went through the door, and I followed soon after. Inside the house, everything was pink. Like, everything. Hathaway walked boldly up the stairs, where a teenage boy with brown hair sat at a pink desk.

"Hey-o, Lucas! I brought a friend!" Hathaway shouted. "Grace, this is Lucas."

Lucas turned around and said, "Oh, Grace, nice to meet you, I'm Lucas."

"Hi Lucas, can you tell me where the gem is?" I asked, getting right to the point.

"What gem?"

"The one that you have, a diamond?"

"Oh, that one? I threw it away a few days ago. I was going to give it to H here, but she didn't want it, so I tossed it. It wasn't polished anyway, so it wasn't very valuable." Lucas said, looking sorry.

"What ?!" I screamed.

"Sorry, I didn't think it was that important to you," sighed Lucas.

"Well," Hathaway said, "I think we're gonna have to do some dumpster diving."
