Bakura was sitting across from Marik for breakfast, and Tèa had sat next to Marik, who was extremely uncomfortable as she stared at him. Yeah, people stared at him all the time, but this was just...wow. She wasn't even trying to mask it.

Yugi tapped on Bakura's shoulder and gestured for him to talk with him for a minute. Quickly, Bakura said, "I'll be right back." To Marik, and excused himself from the table.

"So, how long is this guy staying?" Seto muttered with little Mokuba latched onto his leg with a pancake in his mouth.

"I was thinking, at least until he got his voice back." Bakura thought. "But I think if he needs to stay longer he should."

"Oooooooooh! 'Kura's got a CRUSH on the NEWBIE!!!!" Yugi squealed. Like a seal.

"Well, you would too if you actually had an interest in attractive people."

Yami growled. "Hey!"

They all looked over at Marik, who had been brushing his hair with a fork. Once he noticed they were all staring at him weirdly, he put it down and out his hood over his head to hide his flushed face.

"Okay....that was odd." Pegasus mumbled.

Yami asked, "what was his name again?"

Everyone shrugged. No one had the slightest clue.

"So, let me get this straight:" Yami cleared his throat.

"I think you have to be straight to get things straight." Kaiba sneered.

Yami ignored him and continued, "You found this guy on the beach, claiming to not be able to say a thing. He could barely walk on his own, and doesn't really know much about anything, and you think it's a wonderful idea to let him in and let him stay for a while. It's weird enough already." He pointed to Bakura accusingly. "But the fact that this was YOUR idea, Bakura, is the weirdest part."

"Well, he's capable of shutting up for more than five minutes." Florence sneered. "Plus, he actually listens to what I have to say."

Ryou nudged Yugi. "He also has him around because he thinks he's cute."

"SHUT UP, RYOU."

Ryou cowered.

"Tèa seems to like him." Tristan pointed to her. She was practically drooling over him, and Bakura growled.

The crew decided to sit back down at the table, going to talk about Marik's stay later.

"But why do I have to go with them?" Ryou whined. "It's not my problem if Bakura wants to take the new guy to town."

"You need to make sure they stay out of trouble." Yami winked. "We can't have them being alone together for too long. Especially when Bakura's one of the people."

"But why me?"

"Because you're British. And if something goes wrong, we don't mind losing you all that much."

Ryou grumbled and hurried to catch up to Marik and Bakura, but not before bringing a book along.

"Ryou? Why are you here?" Bakura snapped.

"Yami said so."

"Well, tell him I don't want you here."

"I don't wanna be here either!"

Marik stood silently as he watched them quarrel like brother and sister. It reminded him of Ishizu and Odion...
I'm living the dream, and those suckers are swimming in fish pee and probably missing me.

Meanwhile...

"I'm so glad Marik left! Now we can do anything with this cavern!"
Ishizu and Odion had a random dance party and used some reflective seashells and oysters as a disco ball.

Back to Marik...

Yep. Totally missing me.

"Okay fine!" Bakura threw his hands in the air in frustration. "You can tag along. Just....don't talk."

Ryou nodded. "Fair enough."

What basically happened was this: Bakura and Marik were walking ahead, and Ryou was in their dust.

Marik was looking around at all the nature. He only wished he could ask Bakura, or at least Ryou, what they were. He didn't like it all that much; the air made his nose feel all stuffed and his eyes all itchy. This caused Marik to react in a peculiar way, and he had no idea what to do afterward. (You see, he sneezed. He's never sneezed before.)

"Bless you!" Ryou said from twenty feet behind.

Thanks, Tom Hiddleson.

Marik decided it was best to stay silent (like he had a choice or something) and just keep on walking. It was almost unbelievable, the situation he was in: less than twenty four hours ago, he was an entirely different species and breathing salt water and fish pee, collecting items and being yelled at by Ishizu.
Now, here he was, WALKING on LEGS and breathing fresh air and exploring life above the surface, with BAKURA.

He only wished he could've kept his voice. He wanted to say so many things but found it physically impossible.

If he can go the rest of the day, and the next, without even a peck with Bakura, he can be human forever. What will he do then? He has no way of communicating with anyone, and he wasn't sure how much longer he could bear not talking. Would he even get his voice back again? He probably should've asked.

"Hey, Ryou," Bakura sneered. "There is a tea shop over there." They had made it to the town, and Ryou zipped inside the shop and out of the way without the slightest bit of hesitation.
"Now that he's gone," Balura said in a slightly seductive tone. "let's explore, shall we?"

Marik told hold of Bakura's outstretched hand, and they went exploring.

They reached the center of town, and there was so much going on. Marik watched as people played games of Duel Monsters along the streets, and crowds had gathered around an area and began to dance to all kinds of music. Marik had joined the crowd and started dancing (or at least ATTEMPTING to dance).

"What are you doing?" Bakura asked with a raised brow, judgingly.

Marik grabbed his arm and pulled him into the crowd to dance with him. Together, with a whole crowd of other people (they stood out because of their weird anime hairstyles), they danced to the music without a care.

The kitty was reluctant, at first. He had never cared for dancing -in fact, he hated it. He never ever danced and has never been forced to. It looked and felt stupid.

But it was for him. He was going to try it for him.

Eventually Bakura actually held Marik close and they tried to dance. Marik was twirled and spun and having the best time of his life with his favorite person.
And Bakura started feeling the same.

Sorry this chapter was kinda lame, but the next chapter features the song "Kiss the Girl," so, stay tuned as I ruin a great Disney song! 😁
