Ryou's words finally sunk in to Bakura, and he lay in the sand. He was still upset, however.
He probably hates me.
His back was slightly bruised and his scalp was slightly sore from Marik's pitiful attempt to fight back. It's kind of hard to do that without legs...
Bakura's eyes grew heavy. He was more tired than he thought he was, but he couldn't stop thinking about him. For some reason, it was totally fine to be on the surface when Marik had legs...

He didn't realize it, but he eventually fell asleep in the warm sunlight.

"Under the seeeeaaaaaaaa................." Odion finished, and Marik was no where to be found. He had gotten so caught up in his only musical number that he didn't notice Marik take off.
"Master Marik?" He called, and began searching for him.

Ishizu had made it back to the grotto, but neither Odion nor Marik were there. She tried to find a trace of where Odion was first, since he knows where the millennium rod was hidden.

Odion was checking Marik's room, and didn't find him there. Ishizu met him there and asked him where Marik and the rod were.
He gladly helped her out with the millennium rod part, and together they continued searching for Marik.

The warm, misty ocean breeze flew threw Marik's hair as he watched Bakura sleep from the rock in the distance. He wanted to be angry with him, but couldn't. He wondered to himself why he didn't just swim up to Bakura and just continue with what they were doing before. Would he let him stay this time? Or would he throw him back in again?

Mr. Tweetums was perched on the rock alongside him, talking to him. "But I can't do anything now, Mr. Tweetums." Marik sighed. "Bakura probably doesn't even want me back."

There was a small amount of tweeting in response.

"What? He thinks I hate him?" He looked at the sleeping kitty and felt suddenly depressed. "Bakura....cares?"

Mr. Tweetums tweeted some more.

"Well, yeah, he doesn't care, but he's got the wrong idea..." He shrugged. "What am I supposed to do about it now? It's not like I can sing to him again."

Their conversation continued for hours, and Bakura slept through it.

Ishizu and Odion watched from the deeper part of the ocean. They saw Marik talking with the bird, and then he finally lay back on his rock and watched Bakura. He was upset again.

"He really does love him," Ishizu said. "Doesn't he?"

Odion nodded. "I thought it might've just been some sort of phase."

Ishizu looked at Marik, hating to see him upset. As long as he and Bakura were different, they could never really be together and safe at the same time.
She looked at the glimmering rod in her hand. She didn't even know how to use it properly, but hoped that she could make it work. Just this one moment.

"There's one thing I never thought I'd admit." She said after a long period of silence.

"And what's that, Ishizu?"

Ishizu wiped a small tear from her eye. She sniffled a bit, and sighed. "I'm actually going to miss Marik."

"What do you mean?" Odion looked at her with concern.
