Bakura sat silently while his party was in action. He wasn't much of a party person, (unless someone spikes the punch) so he wasn't quite sure why he was having one. "Hey, author?"

Yeah?

"Why am I having a birthday party? Isn't that kind of cheesy?"

Because in the original movie it was a wedding, and I'm only willing to take the psychoshipping so far.

"That makes sense." He grumbled. "Bloody wanker."

"Swim faster, Ishizu!" Marik tried to yell to her, but could not.

They'd been pulling the canoe as hard and quickly as they could, and they felt like they were only inching closer to the cruise.
Marik couldn't bear to think of what Bakura was doing on the boat. He wasn't sure if he could go on about being a human without Fluffy. He was basically the main reason he became human.

He looked at the approaching sunset. He didn't know what he could do to get closer to the boat fast enough.
Let's just hope the boat is really slow.

"Oh, come on, why are you so antisocial?" Melvin cupped Bakura's chin.

Where's Marik? Did he just disappear off of the face of the Earth? Where'd he go?
Bakura didn't think he'd be asking himself these questions. But he was concerned about the whereabouts of one of his............acquaintances.

Aw, how sweet. Melvin thought. He's wondering where his little merMarik has run off to. Wait until he figures out the truth...that'll be a surprise indeed...

Mr. Tweetums flew toward Melvin and started attacking his face. "WHAT THE EFF.??" He screeched as the bird poked and pecked at his face.
Bakura simply watched, unsure if he should help.

Yami pulled out his phone. "Someone should probably get this on video......"

Marik finally climbed onto the boat and looked at the situation. He silently thanked Mr. Tweetums for holding off Melvin for a bit.
"Marik?" Bakura saw him. "How'd you get here?"

Melvin swatted at the bird. Mr. Tweetums took the seashell from around his neck, and before Melvin could catch it, it hit the ground with a crack!

Suddenly, a glowing orb emerged from the shell, and you could still hear the singing from it. It slowly got closer and closer to Marik, and everyone watched as the voice returned to its rightful owner.

"...Marik?" Bakura was stunned.

"Bakura!" He smiled.

He needed to make sure he was hearing correctly. "Marik?"

"Bakura."

"Marik!" He said angrily.

"Bakura?"

"YAMI." The Pharoah yelled, and they looked at him angrily.

When Bakura stepped closer to Marik, Melvin shrieked in his double toned voice, "Get away from him, Bakura!" He held his own throat, no longer using Marik's voice.

"What are you playing at?" He growled. "I thought you couldn't speak!"

"I couldn't! I...just......"

"The voice I heard! It's yours?! What the bloody hell is this?!"

Marik gulped. This was not going as well as he thought. "I...well..." He tried to turn away, he wasn't sure how he'd answer. He didn't think he could face him anymore. I should've thought about this ahead of time.

Bakura ran over and grabbed him by the wrist, and had Melvin's in his other hand. "NEITHER of you are going BLOODY ANYWHERE until I get answers!"

Everyone on the boat grew silent and Ishizu and Odion listened from the water.

"And if you refuse, I'll stab you right here on the boat and dump your body in the water."

Bakura's grip on their wrists tightened. "Here's my question: who rescued me from the storm? And don't lie to me, because I'm good at telling bullsh*t from truth."

"Well, Melvin fooled you pretty easily." Marik muttered.

"Sod off, Marik," he spat. "Now answer the question!"

"I did." Both Melvin and Marik spoke.

"You need a more organized way of doing this Bakura." Yami said with a face palm.

Bakura grumbled. "What's your evidence?"

"Well, you saw me, didn't you?" Melvin smirked.

Bakura looked at Marik. "What about you?"

"Isn't it friggin obvious? I've got the voice! And if I wasn't your rescuer, I wouldn't have this:" he held up the knife that Odion gave back to him on the way to the cruise.

Bakura's grip dropped, and he reached for the knife in Marik's hand. He stared at it once it was in his palms. "Knifey..." He whispered, and he opened the pocket knife and shuddered in delight at the sound. "You came back to me..."

Marik stood awkwardly. "Um...your welcome?"

Suddenly he was in Bakura's arms, in a hug. No, not a Melvin hug, but a sincere hug. He swore he heard Fluffy sniffling. "You brought Knifey back to me........."

Marik returned his hug and the backed away a bit, and Marik could see Bakura's tears. "You....are.......my rescuer...."
Suddenly Melvin takes his chance and pushes Bakura's head forward, and forcefully, he kisses Marik.
Both were shocked, but Marik was feeling all kinds of different emotions in the unintentional heaven that was Bakura's kiss.
But instinct made him pull away, and he looked at the sky.

Not sunset yet.

"No!" He yells and falls to the floor, and with the exception of his shirt, his tail reformed from his legs and he was a merman again. Bakura stood in utter shock, along with the rest of the boat's passengers.
Marik sees Bakura's face, but couldn't look him in the eye.

Bakura spoke in barely a whisper. "...bloody hell....?"

Melvin laughed. "You're too late!"
