I honestly hate waking up so freaking early in the morning. I thought to myself as I dragged myself out of bed and grabbed a couple towels to take to the shower with me. After I did my annual shower routine, I wrapped my towels around my hair and body and walked to my room to get dressed. I couldn't decide on anything. What else is new? So I grabbed a pair of black capri leggings and a plain red V-neck, I'm too lazy to put much effort into my clothing choices, I paired it with my black vans like the basic person I am and set it out on my bed to put on after I finished getting ready. I first brushed out my hair and it was still wet and because I was feeling lazy, like every Monday, I put it up into an EXTREMLEY messy bun, looked in the mirror and decided I didn't feel like wearing make-up. I pulled on my clothes, and walked out to get something to eat for breakfast. I walked into the kitchen to see Gunner already up and cooking a toaster strudel, he turns to me to say good morning and I see the small bruise on his left cheek, from the one good hit Jason landed on him.

"Gunner! Have you looked in the mirror yet?" I whisper shouted because the rest of our family was sleeping still.

"Shut up. Yes I saw it, I bet that Jason will look worse though." He cockily responded. I just rolled my eyes and moved past him to make a cup of coffee and to toast a pop-tart. After I ate and drank my breakfast I walked back into my room and put on some deodorant, some perfume and grabbed my glasses, (I am supposed to wear them for typically everything but usually only wear them when I get a headache from my eyes hurting, or when I decide to be smart) I grabbed my purse, made sure my chap stick and headphones were in their, put on one more spritz of perfume and grabbed my phone and slipped its charger in my bag then made my way out my room.

"Need a ride to school Gunner?" I asked him. I really don't know why I even ask anymore, he always needs a ride, and I am not going to make him ride a bus when his school is literally a block away from mine.

"Yeah, let me just grab my backpack and stuff." He responded. Now that I have a couple minutes I decide to check my phone and see that I have two unread messages.

6:15 a.m. Jax 😎: Good morning Mari! I hope you have a great day today and I hope I get to see you soon!

6:48 a.m. Jax 😎: I'm sorry if I bothered you... I just thought of you when I woke up and thought you should know...

Oh my gosh....This kid is something.

6:52 a.m. Mari: Good morning! Sorry, I don't usually check my phone first thing in the morning, so no, I wasn't ignoring you, I just hadn't read what you said yet... and thank you, by the way! I think you made my whole morning!! Have a good day today!

6:53 a.m. Jax 😎: That is a huge relief to get a response from you, you don't even know!!!

I smiled down at my phone when I read that, but my obnoxious little brother interrupted me before I had the chance to respond.

"Let's go Mari, I need to be early to talk to Sophie." Gunner tried to hurry me along, but just to get on his nerves more I walked extra slow towards the door. "Mari, you're not funny come on, hurry!"

"You know Gunner, this is your fault, I was up early and ready, you were the one who had to go get your stuff and take forever!"

   "Whatever, let's just go."

"Bye Mom!!!!" I shouted to wake her up and let her know we were leaving.

On the way to school I decided to ask Gunner about his little 'friend', Sophie.
