"Ok let me get this straight, your still married but you've run away because your pregnant and you were receiving threatening messages?" Stephan replied obviously struggling to get his head around what I've just told him.
"Yes basically. Mark doesn't even know about the baby and the way he reacted last time I don't want him to know" I say with the memory of my miscarriage still fresh in my mind, the pain still very much alive.
Stephan reaches across the table and gently takes my hand in his "no matter what happens I'll always be here to help you and the baby. I know we haven't known each other long and your still married but I really do like you and I'd like to try and have a go at us. If that's what you want of course, if not then I'll just help you as a friend in any way I can"Listening to him I felt nothing but a overwhelming emotion of love. This guy was willing to do anything to help me and expected nothing in return. This was the kind of guy I wished I had married, who really did want to spend his life with me and create our own family.
In the days that followed things changed between me and Stephan we started spending every spare minute together between work and even a couple of nights together. Things progressed quickly and within a month I started spending every night at his 2 bedroom semidetached house just 5 minutes away from the hotel.
Stephan wanted me to move in with him on a permanent basis not only so we could always be together but to save the extra money that I was paying for the room in the hotel but that was my space and should anything happen I need to have somewhere else to go and getting accommodation in the hotel is extremely hard especially if you've already had a room and given it up. I kept my room with most of my stuff at the hotel but had a few change of clothes stored at Stephans house.
One afternoon when I visited his home he answered he door giddy with a sort of excitement I have never seen from a guy before. He grabbed my left hand and pulled me up the stairs as quickly as my swollen ankles would carry me towards his spare room. He paused before the door and made me close my eyes, the tension growing by the second.
What could be possibly want to show me in his spare room?
As I heard the hinges whine as the door opened and him gently guide me into the room I had never been so excited to hear someone say "open your eyes love" the nervousness obvious in his voice.
I slowly opened my eyes blinking a few times to take in the room within seconds shock and amazement filled every inch of my body.I can't believe he has done this for me...
