It's the Christmas holidays and with it being most of the boy's last year, Rin decides to invite them all to his holiday home in the countryside of Japan.

"Matsouka-senpaaaai!"

Rin sighed and dropped his last shirt into his bag, crossing his arms over his chest as the running footsteps got closer to his door.

The loud screech of Nitori's voice rang throughout the halls as he burst through the door, catching himself on the handle.

"Matsouka-senpai," he breathed, leaning forward and pushing his palms against his knees.

"Breath, Ai," Rin chuckled, slowly turning his body to face the tired teen. "And I thought I told you to stop calling me that."

Nitori waved his hand in Rin's direction and stretched his back, rubbing the back of his hand against his forhead. "Matsouk- Sorry, Rin. Rin, Rin, Rin. That's going to take some getting used to."

Rin watched Ai try to catch his breath but also continue to rabbit on, and he brought his hand up and gently massaged his achy neck.

Planning holidays are tricky, especially if your parents arn't around to help you. And it's extra tricky if you've got your sister to keep happy, too, along with five other people.

Luckily, Souske couldn't come because his family was strict with tradition and wanted to spend Christmas together. Rin didn't know whether to feel happy because it meant less planning and money, or to feel disappointed that his best friend couldn't come.

But then there were the others. His other best friends. Like Haru, or Nitori.
Was Nitori his best friend?

What was Nitori to him?

Rin's thoughts were cut short by Ai's fingers clicking in his face, his hand waving left and right. The red head glared and pushed the hand down.

"Are you okay, senpai?"

Rin grunted and sat down on his bottom bunk, laying down on his back with his hands behind his head.

"So, about the holiday thing, will there be a pool?" Nitori stepped closer and stood at the end of the bed, gently running his fingers up and down the metal pole.

Rin couldn't seem to tear his eyes away from Nitori's fingers. He felt a blush rise to his cheeks. "Yeah," he muttered, coughing and changing position slightly.

"Alright!" Nitori walked over to the door and opened it, taking a step through and poking his head around the wood. "See you tomorrow then, Matsouka-senpai. Get some good rest, we've all got a long day ahead of us!"
Nitori left with a wink and a small blush.

"Gah," Rin sighed and looked up at the poles holding the mattress up above him. Souske had left for the holidays the day before, so Rin was alone. "The things you do to me, Ai."

The morning of the trip finally came around.

Seeing Nitori after what Rin did to the thought of him the next day made the shark boy feel slightly awkward and uncomfortable, but he squished it to the back of his mind and focused on the others.

Rin and Makoto, as the only ones who could drive, each took turns on the way. Makoto took the wheel mainly, though, due to Rin's angry and aggressive driving.

The drive was fun. Nitori was adorable as always and Nagisa kept everyone's moods up. Haru actually joined in on some of the jokes and Makoto awkwardly apologized for the raven's silence every hour or so.

Rin enjoyed himself when he was with the guys. He'd known them all his life, so he felt comfortable and like he could be himself around them. And sometimes that was refreshing.
