In this, Rin is a first year at Samezuka, meaning Nitori is not yet in the school, also meaning they have not met.
Rin rolled around in his bed, trying to wake himself out of his doze. The sun was just rising and his alarm rang throughout the house, most probably waking his neighbours.
But they were the least of his worries now.
He rolled to the side slightly and trapped his duvet underneath him, before quickly rolling back over, rolling himself up like a burrito. Rin buried his face into said duvet and wiggled his toes.
"So fucking cold," Rin muttered, curling his legs up. "Too fucking cold."
After about five more rings, his alarm stopped. He grunted into his pillow and pulled his arm out, flopping it over the side of his bed.
After around ten or so minutes of struggling, the teen finally ripped his duvet off of him, exposing his skin to the cold October air.
Luckily, it was mid term break, meaning his day was completely open. Rin plodded over to the stand by his ensuite bathroom and lifted his phone, squinting at its bright light.
12:36 pm
He cursed under his breath. He'd really been asleep that long?
The red head pulled the charger out of his phone and turned his head to his black out blinds.
For an unknown reason, the sun was up. He thought he'd felt it on his face that morning, but for it to be up for more than twenty minutes during October was a shock for him.
After living in Australia for most of his life, Japan was like the North Pole. It was feezing! His sister would always laugh at the way he'd wrap his scarf around and around his face when it was only 15°c, because to him it felt like -15°c.
The way the sun peeked out from the little gaps at the side of the blinds reminded Rin of some kind of heavenlty glow. He rolled his eyes at himself and skid over to the window, pulling open his blind and letting the sun pour in.
He continued his day like it was like any other. He showered, blow dried his hair, went downstairs and ate some toast. He eventually went around the house and picked up some clothes that smelt half decent.
That day was no easier or harder than the others. Yes, there were no dirty dishes waiting to be cleaned and he was able to get his clothes fresh and warm out of the dryer, but other than that his routine didn't change.
Rin opened his fridge when the clock hit 2pm in search for some lunch. He sighed when it appeared empty and slammed it shut, cursing at it
"Piece of shit."
He threw on his coat, gloves and scarf and set out to the cafe down the road from his house. When he arrived he was greeted by a very eye pleasing young man and directed to his favourite table; the one seater at the back by the window.
You see, Rin liked people watching. He liked watching them and thinking of their life. It amazed him how everyone he saw, everyone who saw him had their own backstory, had their own feelings and struggles. They all had their fair share of hardships and good memories and they all loved or hated other people.
Sometimes he'd catch other people people watching and shoot them his famous Matsouka smile, teeth and all.
Rin ordered a hot chocolate with a lot of cream (he was in a good mood so he felt like treating himself) and a blueberry muffin.
Not the most healthiest lunch, but it was something.
He spent most of his afternoon sitting in the quiet coffee shop, having some peaceful Rin time.
