"I'm not letting Child Services take my daughter away! That's insane! What have I even done to intice this idea?" Lisa exclaimed. Julia knew what she was doing. She handled this process easily, just like a real Child Services employee would do.
"Ms, I'm afraid you have opened up an--" Julia opened the file that she had printed, so it looked like she was checking some information. "unsafe area for your daughter, Delilah." Lisa was shocked. 'unsafe area'? Was this about the pin? No, it couldn't be, Lisa thought to herself. Delilah wouldn't tell anybody. Not even her friends.
"Please explain the 'unsafe area' I have put my daughter in." Lisa questioned, knowing that this woman wasn't from Child Services, she just wanted the pin. That wasn't going to happen. Julia knew that this woman in the hospital had a sense that 'Lola', was fake. Julia thought to herself, I mean, she has been training herself to pick out the little things that lie, and the small remarks that show people just want the pin. Lisa sat there, just waiting for a response. Julia opened her file, once again. This felt like a game to her. She knew that Lisa was picking up on her lies. Lisa knew that Julia was no ordinary person.
"It seems like you have blowed a bomb in front of her--" Julia started.
"Hey now, that wasn't my fault! A bad, bad person sent me that and I shouldn't be blamed for putting my daughter at risk!" Lisa exclaimed. It was true, Lisa shouldn't really take the fall for Reed Noting's mistake.
Julia resumed her reasoning, "Let me finish. I know the bomb wasn't your fault. But, there is some fault in the fact that a person sent that to you for a reason. Do you know that reason? Because if it isn't an agreeable enough statement, then I have to take Delilah from you."
Lisa craned her neck back. She learned this when she was a child from her own mother. Her mother always told her she should show what she means, so people see what she really thinks, and what she really believes in.
"I don't think you're listening to me, Lola." Lisa had to lie to the fake Child Services rep, because if she spilled, knowing that this woman was really in for the pin, it could ruin everything she had lived for. "Look, that package was meant for someone else. I am a regular, hard-working, honest mother. If you want to come to my home, talk to my family, and pretend like something is wrong, then you'll have a lawsuit on your hands." Lisa took a deep breath to say her last sentence. She knew this one sentence was going to cherry-top her whole peice.
"Now, this is what you're going to do after I finish speaking. You're going to throw out that empty file you have, and walk out that door. You will delete my phone numbers or any sort of contact Child Services has to me, because I'm and honest person. You're going to forget about our conversation. And, may I remind you, that if you ever say a word or lay a finger on my daughter, you'll be sued. Get out." Julia was astonished. This weak, hospitalized woman was standing up for herself like a schoolgirl to a bully. Julia made an angry look, gripped the file, which, for Lisa's information, was not empty, and threw it onto Lisa's bed. She turned on her expensice Choo heels, and stomped away. Lisa was so happy. Her doctor had said that she had at least one more day. That meant she could see her family. She would also be able to train her daughter to fight against Lola.
