In Case {AU}

Chapter 2

Authors Note: okay guys! Thanks or reading chapter 1! I'm really excited to write this story line I have planned out in my head! This is my first fanfic I've ever written and I don't read many either. Basically I just wanted to say thanks for the reads on the first chapter and settle in for the ride! Chapter two

I wait for Nick at my locker after the final bell rings. I chat with some of my friends near my locker about the classes that we have. I have english, psychology, PE, and Biology. I see Nick down the hall and I wave him over. I introduce him to the girls.

"This is Nick, he's new, and he lives down the street from me. His dad just got stationed here" Since we live in an area that is heavily influenced with the Forces, they needed no clarification as to what I meant.

Nick smiles in response to the girls.

"Alright, I guess we're going to go now. See ya!" I say, and the girls response in muffled in clatter of the halls.

On our way home we talk about the days events and what classes we have. We go back over to my place after school and hang out in my backyard on the hammocks.

"Yeah, Mr. Jones is one of the better teachers in our school. He has the ability to connect with his students. You're really going to like his math class"

"I hate math" Nick groaned.

"Hey, want a drink?" I say as I get up head towards the house.

"Sure!" He shouts after me.

I can't help but think what it must be like for him. Always moving, not staying in one place for too long. Always starting at new schools.

I'm so glad I met him. He is the sweetest guy I know. Before he came, I didn't really have anyone. I mean like, I did have friends but just mainly talked to them in school. I usually spent most of my extra time at home keeping the house while mom was at work. Since I've met Nick, I feel better about myself. I know I can trust him with anything. He is truly my best friend.

I gather boxes of crackers and pour two classes of lemon sweet tea and go back outside joining Nick again. I settle back into my hammock gazing up to the low clouds hanging over the ocean.

Our conversation is light. We reminisce memories we've made this past summer.

Like the one time we were biking on the boardwalk on the beach. We were cycling along, I was behind him a roller skater came racing towards him, he swerved and completely fall onto his face. I tried to avoid missing his bike but end up falling right on top of his chest. I quickly lifted myself off of him but our eyes lock. The most beautiful shade of brown. It was so hard to resist leaning in for the kiss I so badly wanted. I sat up and hugged my knees. We stood up and continued cycling like nothing even happened.
