WhenI woke up this morning, Jacob was in the kitchen eating cereal, thatno doubt, Kaitlyn had made him before she left to head back to herhouse before school. I smile and kiss his head.

"Morning,kiddo."

"Morningdad! Kaitlyn made waffles. She left them in the microwave for you."

Ichuckle, "Thanks." I pause for a moment, "Hey kiddo?"

"Yeah?"He looks up with his big blue eyes

"Howdo you feel about spending the night with grandma and grandpa anduncle Derek?"

"Yeah!"

Ichuckle, "Alright, around 4, I'll take you there. I'm takingKaitlyn out tonight as a surprise. Because I have a surprise forher."

"Areyou two getting back together? Is she moving in with us? Whats thesurprise?"

"You'llsee, kiddo."

Theday went incredibly slow, and I just finished getting ready fortonight's date. I took a quick shower, fixed my hair, and changedinto my fancy suit. I put on cologne, and headed downstairs. My momsmiles, with proudness in her eyes. I smile and give her a hug.

"Goget her, son. And Don't let go of her this time."

Ismile, "I don't intend on letting her go this time. Tell Derek totry to get over the fact I'm in love with her."

Derekscoffs, "Like I give a fuck about her."

Mymom sighs, "You two need to put aside your differences and get overwhatever is wrong with you two."

"ShallI tell her, or will you?"

Derekrolls his eyes, "I did no wrong."

"Youcheated on Kaitlyn and didn't tell anyone about her but broughtthat Chelsea girl over a lot! You broke Kaitlyn's heart."

"Don'tforget you broke her heart too, dumbass. It wasn't just me."

"Atleast, I can admit when I'm wrong. Unlike you."

Herolls his eyes, "Right. Once you're with her for a long time,you'll wanna cheat on her too."

"Iwould NEVER hurt her like you did."

Herolls his eyes, and walks out to the livingroom, and sits beside Jakeand starts playing with him. I look over at my parents and my mommeets my eye,

"Pleasetreat her better than Derek did. I feel so bad for that girl."

"Don'tworry mom, I won't hurt her"

Igive her a hug and a quick kiss on the cheek. I nod at my dad andwalk out to the livingroom. I kiss Jacob's forehead,

"Seeyou tomorrow, buddy. I love you."

"Ilove you too, daddy. Good luck tonight!"

Ismile and nod, "Thanks kiddo."

Irun out and get in my car. I stop at the store and get a bouquet ofroses, her favorite, and make my way to my house. I knock on thedoor, and wait for her.
