Jayla's POV

I starred at the card in my hand, debaiting whether or not I should call Jace. That man was too fine. I hovered my finger over the call icon and slightly hesitated before finally pressing it and placing the phone to my ear. It rang twice before it connected us.

"Hello"

"Hey Jace, it's me, Jayla"

"I know, I know your sexy voice anywhere" I couldn't help the blush that fell onto my face.

"What are you doing sir?"

"Looking at my ceiling trying to figure out how to tell you I want to see you again, hopefully today"

"In normal cases it would've been a yes, but i am babysitting for a friend" I looked down at Sky and like it was a motherly instinct pulled the blanket over her a bit more and placed a kiss on her forehead.

"So is there I chance I can pop by?"

"I don't know,Jace"

"I'll bring food"

"Jace"

"Chinese?" I told him the address and he chuckled before saying he'll see me soon. It didn't take long for him to get here but as he rang the doorbell, Sky woke up.

"Morning aunty Jayla" she yawned

"Actually it's afternoon" I teased and she waved me off. The doorbell rang again.

"Stay here okay?" She nodded and sat up on the couch as I headed to the door. I looked through the peep hole to make sure it was him and once I saw Chinese, I opened the door and sent him one of my happiest smiles.

"I would be honored that your smiling so big but i know your only smiling because i brought you food."

"Yeah yeah yeah, what did you get me?"

"Its a surprise" Rolling my eyes i told him to follow me and lead him to the living room before taking my food from him. I sat on the couch beside a curious looking Skylar and started eating my noodles.

"Aunty Jayla who is this?"

"This is uncle Jace" She simply waved and he did the same before she stood up and walked over to where he was sitting.

"If your my uncle then how come I haven't received a birthday present from you?" She asked curiously

"How old are you?"

"I'll be six in a week" To my surprise, he grabbed his wallet and pulled out three crisp twenty dollar bills and handed it to her.

"That should cover it"

"Did i say six, i meant i'm sixty?"

"Skylar" I told her, holding in a laugh.

"Thank you uncle Jace!" She yelled wrapping her arms around him and he hugged her back laughing. She headed up the stairs dancing and once she was out of view, we both busted into laughter.

"Thank you Jace, you didn't have to do that"

"Its nothing. But I can tell by her attitude you influenced her"

"I did no such thing" I say as I hit with a pillow.

"Oh its so on" He replies before tackling me on the couch, being careful not to hurt my stomach. I couldn't stop laughing even if I tried until I felt something.
