Chris POV

My mother called me while I was driving to the studio. "Yesss?"

"Boy, where is my hello Momma?"

"In that hallway before ya bedroom." I mumbled. She laughed.

"You deserved it. But anyways, what you doing?"

"Talking to you."

"I mean besides this."

"Going to the s-"
"Store! Great! I need you to get me some flour, all purpose that it. I also need corn, corn meal, eggs, milk, some more salt and... soda."
"I wasn't going to the store."

"Well you are if you want to come to my house."

"I don't want to come to your house. Who said I wanted to come to your house?"

"HUsh phush. You love coming to my house. Eating my food."

"I need about a month before I eat there again. Let alone eat again. Just to get that horrible image out of my head.'
"See you later tonight Christopher." she said.

"I putting the groceries outside the door."
"That's not what Charlie said, he said that he was going to eat my-" I hung up on her. I didn't want to know what Charlie wanted to say. It was probably nasty. I pulled up to the studio. I was going to work on my new album that I was going to name after Royalty as soon as I walked in. I ran into somebody. I looked at them. It was Rita.

"Hey." she said smiling. She was looking beautiful like always. And smelling good too. "Why do we always end up like this?"
"Hey, but idk." I said cheesing.

"What are you doing here?" she asked walking with me towards the elevator.

"Recording a new song I got."

"What's it called?"

"Zero."

"Zero as in the number?"

"Yeah. What else would it be?"

"Zero off of Holes."

"Why would I make a song about a dude? I'm not gay."

"I never said that."

"Well you almost did."

Once we got in the elevator, I pressed the 8th floor button. Then the doors closed. I looked at Rita. Her eyes were closed. I was staring at her until the doors open. That's when her eyes opened. She saw me staring. She blushed.

"What?" she asked.

"Why were your eyes closed?"

"I'm scared of elevators."

"Yet you're in one."

"Look don't judge me. I'm lazy." We walked to studio room 802. The producer, Matthew stood up.

"Chris." he said dapping me up.

"Wassup." I said.

"You ready?"

"Yeah."

Rita POV

After being in the studio with Chris for a couple of hour, we both went to the grocery store.

"What are you getting?" I asked.

He looked at me. "I don't remember." Then his phone rang. "But, she just sent me a text. With the list." he said smiling. "Mother knows her child well." Then, "This Is How We Do It" by Montell Jordan came on. Chris looked at me. He started dancing. First it was the running man. Then he started the sprinkler. Then the tootsie roll. Then to my surprise, he started doing the Carlton, I walked away once a crowd started to form.

I was getting the milk when Chris caught up to me. He was a little red from dancing. "Why'd you leave me?"

"Cuz, too many people were coming around." I said. He looked around in the cart.

"How you know-"

"Your mother called me before she called you."

"This woman never trusts me."

"You forgot what she told you."

"That was 3 hours ago. I was trying to remember the lyrics."
"Valid point." After getting what we needed, we paid then went back to the apartments. We got upstairs then Chris tried to put the groceries by the door and run. But Ms. Joyce opened the door before he could put it on the floor.

"Chris."

"Sh!t." he mumbled.

"Daaa!" Royalty said running out the door.

"Little Ro Peep!" he said picking her up.

"Dinner is ready."

"Why did I have to go to the store?"

"To come here and see your child." I said.

"You knew?"

"Yeah. I wanted to make you happy."

He smiled. "Thank you." he hugged me.

"No problem. Anything for a friend."

He looked at me. There was something in his eyes that was telling me that I did something wrong. But, I don't know what it is.
