She lies on the floor so still
Her skin so pale it doesn't seem real
The room smells of her sorrows pouring out upon deaf ears who cared when it was too lateThe lines trace her wrist
Reflections of her goal on her blade
And I sit here
Hearing my heart beat as hers isn'tI think I can understand her
But I know I can't
I can't touch her wound
or bring to life her mortality
I never thought it could feel so suffocating
This deep sense of finalityBut this is how things went
There's nothing I can change
And I mourn the death
Of a life that was unfairly spent
