Woke up from dreaming
and grimaced in pain
Reality has failed to escape her again
And it's 9 in the morning
She hadn't been happy for days

The darkness pulls her in
It promises things that
light would never give
It looks at her with a devilish , tempting grin it leads her upstairs , it leads her upstairs
Where she can be alone , without a care

Forgive her for breaking apart
But she's dying , dying to save her heart and she doesn't need you to be a bother
Darkness understands her better than you ever do
It sees into her dreams
And gives them to her in scenes
Someday she may smile again

Even though she won't allow herself to believe in love
There's a nice boy slowly winning her heart
But she's moving away slightly
Before she can let the feeling stay
She's scared of falling again

Now the darkness pulls her in
It looks at her with a devilish , tempting grin it leads her upstairs , it leads her upstairs
Where she can be alone , without a care

Forgive her for breaking apart
But she's dying , dying to save her heart and she doesn't need you to be a bother
Darkness understands her better than you ever do
It sees into her dreams
And gives them to her in scenes
Someday she may smile again
