Day 4
When we arrived at the hotel it was ten minutes past midnight. All five of us stumbled blearily to check in, run to our rooms, and bid goodnight. I closed the door to mine and Tristan's room and turned. Tristan was lying on his bed, not even bothering to change into his pajamas. I followed suit and the moment my head hit the pillow I was asleep.
~~~
"Bobby, wake up. The fair opens in half and hour!" I blinked and was nearly blinded by sunlight streaming through the curtains on the hotel room. Tristan was standing beside my bed, fully clothed, though his hair was a mess. I turned to look a the clock- and swore.
"Why didn't you wake me up earlier?" I gasped at him, running to throw open my bag and yank out the first clothes I could find.
"You were like a stone, man!" Tristan defended himself, throwing his arms in the air.
"Well are the girls ready yet?"
"I don't think so."
"Good. Come on, we still have to get breakfast-"
"We can get it at the fair and just go tomorrow. Let's go get the girls." Tristan ran a comb a few times through his hair and then turned to the door. I rushed to brush my teeth and comb my hair and caught the door seconds before it closed behind Tristan. We stopped at the girls' door and knocked. It creaked open, revealing Gia to us in a camisole and cotton shorts- from the frayed edge I could tell they were her pajamas. I turned away as soon as that processed, running my fingers through my hair.
"Can you please get decent?" I questioned. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Tristan staring at the floor, his face beet red. With any other girl I probably would've been the same, but with Gia, I don't know, I guess having known her for so long and almost kissing her once made me significantly less embarrassed.
"Oh shut up." I could feel her rolling her eyes at my back, but I still didn't turn. "I know you're thinking how hot I am right now."
"Gia go get dressed please. Tristan does not want to see your butt cheeks hanging out of your shorts, missy." At Sam's voice I turned and saw Gia sauntering off as her sister took her place at the door. "Sorry about that." I shrugged, rolling my eyes and Tristan mumbled incoherently, his face turning even more crimson. Sam, luckily, was fully clothed in a long sleeved shirt and jeans, her short hair swept into a bobbed ponytail. "We're almost ready. Well, most of us." Just as she said that, Sadie joined her at the door, giving me a quick smile. Now it was my turn to get embarrassed, my stomach turning to knots. I smiled back nervously, scratching my ear in that tick of mine. Dang, why did that leather jacket have to look so good?
"Okay I'm ready!" Gia appeared seconds later, pushing past Sadie and Sam in that flamboyant way of hers. She had a brush in hand and ran it through her loose curls a few times before chucking it back into to hotel room. "Let's go stab someone's eye out!"
~~~
Apparently stabbing was frowned upon, much to Gia's disappointment, and all the swords and blades were blunted or had soft rubber ends. There were various activities going on all at the same time; we got a list at the entrance along with a map of the park grounds that the festival organizer's had reserved. The place was packed. There were crowds of people hugging us on all sides, and I tripped over their feet on more than one occasion.
"Where do you guys want to go first?" Sam called over the clamor of humans, and animals in cages, around us.
"Can we go eat, please?" Gia shouted before the rest of us could respond. Sam tossed a look at me, Tristan, and Sadie and we all nodded in agreement.
